Hi all i bought a 2 bed tilo penthouse on phase 1 in june as an investment.I paid the deposit but before the next payment i found out through the sales rep that the golf course has been downgraded to a competion standard and not championship one which means it cannot hold major events so i pulled the plug but i contunied to purchase on roda as a holiday home.It just seems to me that there is a lot of stuff up in the air about the covera resort and not a whole lot of concrete facts, dont get me wrong it looks like it will be nice but iam going to wait and see what exactly is there before id buy and maybe the buy a resale

Uh oh.

Don't like the sound of that at all. I mentioned earlier the stress involved in buying abroad. The stress meter has just gone up a notch. I had better start making enquiries regarding this immediately. This would definately affect the resale potential and therefore future profits.

hi jetjockey

bought a two bed penthouse apartment  at corvera oct 2005, all the sales litrature that i have received to date states that the golf course will be of international competition standard, never ever been told or seen any litrature stating it to be championship standard, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, however if the course is to be used for the proffesionals to practise and train on then i am sure it will be long and difficult enough for the majority of golfers that will use it.

If it were to a championship course the proffesionals would in reality only use it to play an event at most once a year ( major tournament )

dont think it will make much of a difference in the overhaul senario of things, perhaps more so for you if you have bought purley for investment purposes.

hope you keep faith with the development.

dave

The PGA newsletter under the 'De Vere' thread refers to Corvera as having a championship course.

Regarding the issue of championship or competition golf course, all you golfers out there will know that it means exactly the same thing.

You can not have a competition on a non championship golf course, Roda golf is not, nor will it ever be a championship course, or competition course for that matter, with Corvera being 7500 yards, it will be one of the longest CHAMPIONSHIP golf courses in Europe and a "must visit" place for all serious golfers around Europe making this place a fantastic investment and holiday home.

Just my 2 pence worth

Hi All I've just discovered this website and thought I would message as a new visitor. I have bought a two bed apartment phase 1 Tilo. I purchased July 2005. I researched Spain extensively and saw nothing like Corvera. I found cramped apartments selling for 180,000 Euros, old tatty town centre apartments for 190,000 upwards. My Tilo was 187,000.

Also Phase 1 buyers can definitely sell before completion but it's restricted to phase 1.

I think it may be a British trait to look on the negative side but I look at the £40,000 deposit I paid and in the last year and a half I would have received very little return on that as an investment on a low risk prospect. A high risk prospect would have made me more nervous than Corvera. I see it as a plus that the development is taking longer . To me the area will be given more time to evolve and by the time my apartment is finished I think it will prove a more attractive proposition as a rental.

I've seen many programmes on Eastern Europe and I still think that Spain is a mature market but a place British people consistantly love to visit. I'm confident... it's going to be a beautiful development.

I was in Corvera week ending 24th february, 2 bed properties are now selling on Phase 3 at between to € 220,000 & €260,000, the big selling point was the PGA Acadamy Golf Course and De Vere Hotels alog with the other facilities such as Equestrian Centre and Sports Centre. The infrastructure is very well under way. I hope my investment will reap rewards. I have some structure photo's how do I send these?

That's great news regarding the visit to Corvera. I had a look at the Corvera website and they have posted updated pictures on the site. It's great to see the ground being broken.Following my last look at this site I contacted Robbie Blackburn (sales person who initially showed me Corvera) I voiced the concerns raidsed on this site and Robbie has put my mind at ease.Regarding De Vere's involvement Robbie has confirmed De Vere have moved their Belfry Manager Mick Maloney over to Murcia to oversee the work carried out at Roda and Corvera. The relocation from the Belfry of The PGA Academy to Corvera he assures me is further clarification that Corvera will be a championship course... in fact the longest in Europe. Robbie has also said a new phase is about to be released so further information regarding an upturn in prices is likely to be given. I think it's all great news. I think Corvera will be in a class of its own. I look how many people have bought at Polaris World I think their developments lack individuality I'd much rather be at Corvera wouldn't you??
