Drivers Medical and Resident Change to Spanish Licence

Resident in Spain ie here for more than 3 months, had licence more than 10 years  or over 45 etc You need a medical certificate or you could find licence invalid. . 40 euros in Mazarron town on main street  108  clinic next door to travel agent . Tuesday and Thursday evenings . Take licence and residencia paper and  passport.

Traffico Murcia liked letter but still insist a resident changes over to Spanish licence as they need to issue points to be deducted in case of a Traffic Violation

When you change licence you loose D1 and D1E  - for those old enough to have it . However in Uk when you remew licence you may also loose D1 and D1E  per DVLA  re minibus "When your licence is renewed, your minibus entitlement can only be issued if you make a special application, which will involve meeting higher medical standards."

However in Traffico reaction I got with letter was important letter but you have to change to a Spanish licence

I bought the book and its very helpful, my understanding is a resident in an eu COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE A LICENCE FROM THAT COUNTRY IE ANYONE WHO HAS LIVED THERE MORE THAN 3 MIONTHS. after 6 months you should be doing a tax return  . I am sure i will get loads back but this is my understanding and I have come across probate situations where ex pat although lived here for years has not done tax return. Partner then has a big tax bill while someone who has been doing tax returns only has a small tax bill .

also bought You and the law in Spain David Searl and I went on a residential tax course in Calpe with a Spanish firm of economistas . I was an IFA and Building Society Manager in UK and have UK probate experience. I have a licenced Taxi in Spain so will stick to what I have learnt .
