Signed and took ownership JULY this year of a phase 1 apartment. I installed aircon late JULY and on two separate visits since I have had aircon problems. Supplier/fitter visited each time and eventually changed unit on roof a few days before I returned home 20th August on my second visit.

Family members are back out this week and since  arrival the aircon has not worked.

The aircon unit is a samsung and they have been notified of this ongoing problem by the supplier/fitter. Talk that it could be a pre install problem ???      Is this likely and has any one on phase 1 had a similar problem. If so, how was it resolved?

Thanks

Others I know on Phase 1 have had some problems (though many have not). I would suggest that as part of your process, you contact Resortalia who have been looking at what to do in other cases. They may need to go back to PW although this will be difficult.

We're on Phase 1 with Samsung units & had problems too. We have always turned off the main electric supply when leaving and it's always when turning on  for the 1st time that it  knocks out one of the aircon units, usually the main bed, but never in the living room.

Just been at Terrazas for a month & once the units had been reset they worked fine the whole time.  This time we've fliped the switch for the AC in the fuse box before the main switch. Next time we go we've been told to switch on the main electrics, but  keep the AC fuse switch off for another 10 - 15 mins. Then give another 10 mins before turning on the individual Ac units. We'll see!

What happens with yours?  Anything similar?

Seems now for certain that there is a problem with pre install. The aircon installers tell me now that there appears to a small hair line crack in the pre installed piping and this is causing a loss of gas once the air con units are switched off. With reduced gas the air con systems shut down to protect the units

I am now seeking advise on how I will proceed and resolve the problem.

I believe that the builders work is insured ( as in the UK for 10 yrs). So that is my first source of getting the problem fixed. Aircon installers tell me it is possible to locate the faulty pipe and simple for a builder to replace the section of the pre installed piping. This will fix my problem.

Has anyone had a similar problem and how has Polaris World supported them in getting the builders to fix the pre installed piping?

I have as nicw suggested, contacted Resortalia by e mail, but heard nothing yet.

We had exactly the same problem.  When our aircon people installed the system there was a problem with the pipe and it couldn't hold the pressure.  They reported the fault to Polaris who eventually solved the problem. The air con people then returned to finish the work.

Initlally we thought Resortitalia would solve the problem, but as it was a building fault it had to be Polaris who did the work.  This was around a year ago.

I doubt very much if you will have much luck with Polaris.  if you need someone to look at the air-con privately I can personally recommend Heating and cooling solutions.  His name is Mike and his telephone number is 686 356 591.  i had a problem with my air-con in Mar Menor 2 and had  2 different companies out to look at it.  After a lot of head scratching they quoted me large sum to replace the circuit board.  A neigbour then suggested this company, who came out and had the unit repaired within an hour.

Audi
