community charge

Hi although we are not on your development we have just started to pay our community charge and thought we could help with a bit of info on ours. The first thing is your development must be handed over and a committee needs to be set up with president and vice president who will look into the cost involved and then come up with the amount each owner will have to pay. These cost usually included things like public liability insurance, gardening lighting on public areas cleaning of communal swimming pool etc.Ours as worked out at around 200€ a year but have heard of some being as high as 2000€.

My advice is try and find out if there as been a meeting to set up the committee or when such a meeting is to take place and make sure you are there and question all the charges they come up with and ask if they have tried to get the lowest price possible for everything.
