We have had problems with wayward golf balls hitting our property and / or landing in our garden / pool. We understand owners / users of other frontline properties have had the same problem and would be grateful to hear from anyone who has and if they have managed to get anything done about it. We have tried emailing Managers / Directors at Roda, but at present nobody is coming back to us. We are very worried for people's safety and would be grateful if anyone could please help us to solve this dangerous situation.

Hi Les

I do feel for you and on playing Roda last week one of our golfers did hit a ball that landed in a garden, but other than a large net in front of your property does this problem not come with a front line place !. A question for you if you don't mind, I stayed with 2 firends on Roda and enjoyed the stay but as a Corvera depositer with maybe similar problems to yourselves with all that is going on with our two sites, are you a disgruntled buyer with no De Vere hotel or do you remain positive with Roda.

I am trying to look forward with Corvera and having played the course all seems favourable, but maybe like Roda we have other's that feel the whole thing will go up in smoke, what sort of news is coming from your side, I understand if you wish to keep your comments to yourself but I am trying to find a balanced view.

Thanks

K.J.

Hi K.J.

There is always a certain amount of risk with most things, but I feel Roda do have a duty to protect people from injury where they can, more so when it is constant and so dangerous. Seven golf balls hitting our property / garden / pool in the last few months is extremely worrying, especially as we have young children staying there next month as well.

Roda have said they will speak to the golf course to see if a tall net can be erected, but I will have to put it up and pay for it myself ! Surely that can't be right, I am not the one causing the problem ? All I am asking is that they are fair and reasonable, considering the extreme danger and to help do something before someone is seriously hurt.

We enjoy staying at Roda (apart from wayward golf balls and the lack of people shouting "Four") and the lack of hotel, shops, bars etc on the actual site is most dissapointing (as they were one of the reasons we purchased the property). However, fortunately for people staying at Roda, there are lots of restaurants, bars etc off site, within a short distance (ie the square in Los Alcazares), which help ease the dissapointment and not having visited Covera, I am not sure if the same would apply.

Even so, one would hope that once the economy picks up in Spain, then so too will investors and developers, which in turn will encourage lenders to support such schemes again. Hope this helps.

Regards

Les

Hi Les

Yes it does help thanks,  and I do feel like yourself but with out Los Alcazeres of I know very well from my recent visits, we have a sleepy spanish town close by  that will need new business to be of simular, and I agree the Spanish economy will turn around but when !.

I wish you well with your task on the golf net and I would have thought they would also look at the situation being dangerous for families, as I try to be very aware on a golf course with miss hit balls, I would not like to be put in a daily situation like yourself without protection,

Thanks for your reply and good to hear a positive outlook rather than the negative doom and gloom that seems to be on Corvera by some.

K.J.
