idiots guide on what to pay

Hi all,

As we're going to Condado next week I would be grateful if anyone would give me an idiots list of taxes, fees etc that i should be paying this year.

I'm sure if you email David (dringman) he will be able to help you.  He's going to help me when I'm next out (4th July) so if you need to go to Alhama de Murcia town hall maybe we can share a vehicle?

2 taxes are essential

IBI  - annual tax the council levies  (Alhama should send the invoices out - maybe not this year but certainly next year I estimate it to be €150) this is per property not per person. I normally pay this tax (for Mazarron) just at the bank. they will stamp it and pay electronically.

Non residents tax - income tax-  I let my solicitor/accountant do it  something that has to be paid in autumn for the previous year. Not complicated but for a small fee the will sort it all out so I don't have to worry about it. the show me the forms & amount to pay. i pay them and they will send me a copy of the receipt they get from the taxman.This tax is per person mentioned on the escruta so when co-owned man/wife for example you both pay. Its upto you but the less headache the more you enjoy the property. I think he charges €40 per tax form.
