gates were not supplied, break ins have happened, pre installation of air conditioning was a waste of money, builder just put in extra plug sockets, this has not reduced the price of air conditioning, top soil on gardens extremely dangerous, bottom gardens very deep top soil, not been compacted down.

Yip you are right, no gates, break-ins and no reply from Omega estates.

I suppose its very true about - when they have your money they are not interested.

We love the house and the place, but disappointed by our agents and the builders.

hi graham our number is 390 on the top road in the middle (blue) burglaries still happening, its disgusting, people are getting very upset. were here most of the year, but we could do with all getting together, and sorting out gates etc. we feel like prisoners in our own home.  let us know when you are coming out. we all love our properties, but the builder knows whats going on, and their still building on the other side of the pool, and there no more secure than ours, so they will eventually get burglars as well, how fair is that.  trilby

It is scary,but nothing can be done until all the apartments are taken then we could get the community up and running and get gates put on, but how long will that all take, we were lucky we wasnt broken into, but people we have got to know werent so lucky and it throws a damp cloud on our dreams doesnt it, we all want a good life in Spain, all have put lots of money into this and these little sh**s that are doing the breaking in are spoiling it for us all.  the builders and the agents know all about this but all they are interested in is selling the properties, we were lucky, we came over with a very small company, just one lady, she told us to use every possible means to secure out property and we did that, so we have been lucky up to know.

we are coming out on the 29th of Jan for 6 days, again to check the place and make it more secure if possible.

The break-ins seem to be more when the houses are occupied, I don't think they are interested in furniture, more valuables and money (all petty theft).

The builders and agents really need to be held accountable for the break-ins, as especially as the theives have got keys, but nobody is interested and just seems to be the norm.

Anyway out soon, and looking forward to the break.

 

 

 

it is something to look forward to isnt it, having your own place to go whenever you want to, if we could just get over the breakins and bad things that happen it would be ideal wouldnt it, have a good time while you are over there, we are there at Easter, looking forward to that, can only get over when my hubby can get holidays from work, still as long as we get over a few times a year that will do for the time being, hope everything is ok for you.

Hiya, sorry it has taken so long to reply, we have already moved in now, everything is great, actually just got back to gorgeous sunny weather, nothing but rain in Spain out there :-(, but we got everything done that we had to do, so it is just holidaying now instead of running around getting things that we want.  found a nice place to go with the children incase the pool isnt ready for the summer, just at the back of the apartments, a place called Flavor's, has a nice pool there and a kiddies one too and you can get fed and watered too.  So we are very happy with everything :-)))

Unsure if to put an alarm in, or have them fitted to the grilles.

Got to say Graham, we went for both the alarm indoors and the grille alarms too, just thought that it was better to be safe than sorry, hubby is going to make something that will make the grilles  more secure too, he has something in mind.  watch this space :-)

I'll have a look at what he can offer for alarms.

Have you had any experience with cable TV, I see the local guy was installing cable last week.

We were offered connection for 420euro and a monthly charge of 12.50 euro a month for 22 channels.

Don't know if this is the best as it is only for holidays use.

I cant remember now which package we got, but i know it is a sky package, it has about 34 channels, most of the usual ones, including some sky sports and movies the usual itv, bbc and so on, i remember we paid an initial amount, but i cant remember how much it was and we pay it once a year then in October and it is something like 180euros, it suited us, when we go over again in July I will take a closer look at what package it is, i know each time we go over, someone has stuck another flyer about tv installations on the bloody door, amazing because they must have to climb over the locked gate to stick them on, But as i say the one we got was the one that was right for us, we try to just go out a few times when we are over so we wanted to have the telly set up, if you go over quite a few times, it gets expensive to go out all the time doesnt it, so we just go out a couple of times and the rest of the time just chill on the balcony.

we are planning another trip in July, we are taking my mother in law out to see the apartment, we are really looking forward to it, they told us ours would be ready in the June, but it wasnt ready until the October, so I know how you are feeling, I bet you cant wait to get things sorted and start having your holidays there, it is something to look forward to :-) We are both well, but sick of the Manchester weather, raining and windy most of the time, but United won the league so that more than makes up for it :-)))  anyway hope to see you both soon   Elaine
