Choice Aroma In Apartments

Anyone else suffer from this ?

Best description has been when i asked the question  ''could the lecky have gone off and something has defrosted and rotted in the freezer?''

Response, ''not unless you've had a dump in the freezer when last out''

Had the backdraft for 1 day when out last October, blowing up via the Bidet, Sink and Bath plugholes and not the toilet or drain cap in the bathroom/kitchen. Just disappeared of its own accord after 24 hours.

Yesterday it was just in the apartment but not appearing to eminate from the bathroom, today it has gone. Reports from PW blame it on the direction of the wind and advise regular venting of the apartment/running of all taps - I did all that last time and it didn't help, the pong just disappeared the next day when i was out.

Dave, from what i understand the toilet and bidet run on the same trap and the do-dos and waste some times sit in the pipe below the plate on the floor, if you run the tap on the bidet it should flush it through and sort out the smell, it worked for my old man. also you may want to put a cloth in the waste on the dishwasher outlet and this seems to kick up as well !!!

Hi Dave and Dan, glad (well not exactly glad) to hear that someone else is experiencing the same smell that we had when we were over at the end of January.  You are right - there one day, gone the next!!!  Who knows, but not very pleasant.  Over again next week for the meeting so hopefully there will be no smell. We are also in garden 4 Dave, hope it`s not  just us?!

Hi, check your washing machine outlet pipe, it vents back if the plumbing is not run for long periods but will also produce a nice aroma, smells similar to rotton eggs or gas?

Put a cap on that pipe or even tin foil if it is open and this will iliminate that smell, if not just be aware that the plumbing needs to be run often the way it is vented. Ask you key holder to check that for you if you are not here.

Think I might knock it down and get it rebuilt ............ anyone want to share the cost ?

None of you have obviously noticed the smell from the near by pig farms? The indoor smells are because the Spanish do not fit U bends. Get someone to fit one or do it yourself and the problem will go away.

Any recommentdations anybody for a plumber to do this because I know my daughters will not want to go near the place if its that bad.  Then we'll be back to hotels in other countries and the apartment will stand empty!!!!!
