Grandchildren on holiday at S.G.

Hi to everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well (how was the head Eric?) I make no comment about Pete.

My daughter is thinking of going to S.G. during the summer school holidays and wants to know what there is for the children within a reasonable drive. Their ages are 3 (son) and 10 (daughter) If anyone has any ideas can they let me know, I am very worried they could be bored with nothing on site.

hi ..there is a swimming pool in balsicas and torre pacheco.also a tenpin bowling alley over the bridge on the industrial estate going towards roldan also there is one in the dos mares shoping centre..and of course the beach.apart from that there is nothing on sierra golf ......dennis

hi me again there is a water park in toreaveja and murcia also if they wish the theme park in benidorm terra mittica......dennis

There's also Terra Natura in both Murcia and Benidorm - an animal type theme park with water park.  Torrevieja also has a large bowling alley with games arcade, a couple of water parks and Las Habernas shopping centre.  There's also a cinema which sometimes show English films.

Hi Davina, There is a nice little Park in Roldan for the kids and it has a snack bar there.

We used to spend many evenings at the seafront  fair in Torrevieja when our daughter was younger.  They have a very good section of rides for toddlers. 

Guadamar (other side of Torrevieja)  which is approx 45 mins drive has a lovely beach as well as a park within walking distance (full of red squirrels), with childens play equipment and a lake full of terapins and ducks which you can feed.  Also in the summer there's normally a small fair in the park.

We were there for about five weeks last summer and intend, God willing, to do the same this year.

Our kids, 17, 13 and 6 were of course there with us and had a great time. We did all the stuf below and there was hardly a day free. Friends came over and stayed too, they loved it and are coming back this year.

Its about minus 2 here at the minute and a 30 degree Siera Golf seems miles away but weza lookin forward to it.!!!

I think the kids will enjoy it fine, we also had TV(for a while) and an internet connection which helped too!

Hello to everyone,

Thanks for all the ideas, when my daughter said about going out I had a mild panic thinking they would be very bored. I have emailed all the messages to my daughter and now it's over to her to decide.

I can't believe it is still so cold over there, we came out at Christmas and I was so thankful we had the log fire. Our first Christmas there was a bit grotty, very very cold and no water or electricity.  We went back at Easter and it was beautiful, we sat outside most evenings and then we came out for three weeks in August. Boy was it hot, more air conditioning is now installed in the bedrooms and this Christmas was, as I said earlier, was much better with the heating.

 I retired from teaching last Friday so we can now come over during term time and  when the weather is better. What a difference in price for the flights. We are out again during March courtesy of Ryan Air, we are just bringing hand luggage and we have saved over £200.00

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon and once again thanks for all the ideas.
