Does anyone know if there is an indoor swimming pool which is open to all, within reasonable distance of Thalassa?   My son and family are visiting whilst the spa is closed and would like to be able to take their 1 year old swimming.

Don't know where it is exactly but there is an indoor pool in Vera town, although I understand that the large pool is laned off for serious swimmers. There is a smaller pool but this is often used by classes such as aquafit etc.

One of the receptionists speak quite good English so you could go and ask. It is in the town round the corner from Central Motors.

I picked this information up elsewhere but have not used it personally.

There is an indoor pool at Vera Beach Club (Buganvillas), cross over the bridge from Puerto Rey towards Buganvillas, VBC is the first left turn, however it is illegal to cross the solid white line so you have to go to the Buganvillas roundabout and come back and turn right (at the computer shop Inforgalte).  About 300mts down on the right handside is a sign for the Telebanco cash machine this is actually in the wall of the indoor swimming pool, not sure of the opening times.  The other indoor pool is in Vera itself, if you need directions PM me.

Sue, Further to Phill's post.

We have used Vera Beach Club for many years and the facilities include pool, jaccuzzi, gym and sauna.  Bathing caps are obligatory in the pool and under 18 year olds must be accompanied.  We have found the facilities fairly uncrowded though we haven't used them since we have been in Thalassa.  Opening times are 0830 to 1400 and 1700 to 2230 and I think that they are closed on Saturdays.

The under 18' s being accompanied sounds like a good idea for Thalassa..If it is good enough for Vera Beach club it is good enough for us,and they have the rule for a reason.I believe that it is about responsibility .

Ken, There is one very big difefrence between Thalassa and VBC, whereas people staying at the complex (that is VBC & Vera Coast) can use the facilities without paying, there are full time attendants in the Spa and people who are not staying there can use the facilities by paying for them.  The rules are easily enforced by having staff there all the time.
