EOS Site Update Nº5 - "LIKES & DISLIKES"
Thursday, September 12, 2013 @ 8:23 PM

Many of you have probably noticed this new functionality on the forums. Quite simply put it allows you to like or dislike a post. Once you have liked or disliked a post a link will appear saying : Liked by you (remove) so if you change your mind or make a mistake you can remove your opinion or alter it. This functionality is only available to EOS Members, readers who are not registered can not Like or Dislike a post. We hope this will also give the opprtunity to the thousands of EOS members who do not normally get involved in threads actively, an opportunity to share their opinon on the quality of the content posted. So if you feel a post was helpful or even funny please "like it" and if you think it was not very helpful please "dislike" it. All likes and dislikes are anonymous but we will be keeping a tally of the likes and dislikes per member as we "may" decide to tie the number "likes" in with the number of stars a member has beside his or her username in the post header. This way they would have more credibility as it wouldn't just depend on the number of posts someone has written but the quality of their posts would also influence their star rating. Hope you all like the functionality....as always there is more on the way...

Please give us your feedback and leave a comment.

Thanks

Eos Team

Hi guys. I may be being thick but I couldn't see the like and dislike function when I was just on Tamara's blog - wanted to do the 'like' but only saw the Facebook 'like' and I'm not on Facebook.

Hi eggcup

The functionality is only available on the forum threads for the time being, not on the blogs yet

A very good idea. It will give the blogger an indication of whether he or she is on the right track or not and hopefully encourage improved content.

Well overdue and very pleasing. I think this is a compelling insight into how readers react to news stories and comment. The Daily Mail’s similar scheme is perfect for this. I think it will add immensely to the quality of debate and the credibility of EYE on Spain. Well done!

Sounds a great idea to me and will make sure I either like or dislike from now on.

I think this is a good idea but I also don't use or ever intend to use Facebook so how can I join in?

I have another problem. Can anyone help?

I can't read half the main screens because of adverts and I can't find anyway of contacting EOS without paying €9.

Any suggestions?

Hi TTWHO

You do not need to have Facebook to participate, just click on Like or Dislike, this is EOS's own internal system. To contact us you can either pm me or the moderators - "eos_moderators" or send us a message via the technical problem page which you can access via the "Contact Us" link in the header and scroll down to the bottom. It sounds like an issue with your browser but best send a message to technical support explaining clearly what is happening and they will give you a solution. Glad to see the new functionality has been well received!! :)
