I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an online company that does national deliveries in Spain that sells gas heaters (the ones with the bottle inside) but that look nice?  I've seen some on english websites that look like woodburning stoves but they don't require a flue and are portable.  I would have put a link in but it won't let me but if you google lpg-portable-heaters and go to the section on living flame you'll see what I mean.

I think I'd probably expect to pay between 3 adn 4 hunder pounds for one of these things.  so yes, they are a bit pricey BUT they look nice, run on gas bottles (cheap) and can be moved about easily - i just know if i had a proper stove put in I'd get sick of it in one place and want to move it...

Failing that anyone that sells the above somewhere between Alicante Airport and Cartagena.

Otherwise I'm in for another cold christmas.

Thanks in advance

Hi;

I'm not certain but I think that the regulator / adaptor that sits atop the gas bottle in Spain is of a different design to that used in the UK. There is therefore the possibility that any heater purchased in the UK may not be compatible with the style of regulator used by the Spanish supply companies Repsol and Cepsa...

OK...in answer to your main question....I have seen portable gas heaters in both AKI and Brico-Depot Stores. (Brico is the Spanish arm of B&Q). AKI's website aki.es  works best in IE. Brico's website is a nightmare to navigate; so much so that I wont even bother to put a link in to it half the time it doesnt work at all...just see for yourself!

Whether or not they carry the woodburning look-alike versions is something you will have to investigate for yourself.

Repsol and Cepsa are the main distriibutors for the integrall gas bottles and you will need to set up an arrangement with them for the purchase of your first bottle. This may require the production of an NIE...

If you would pefer a fixed installation after all can I suggest you contact http://www.meridianstoves.com/gas-fires1.htm They are based near Alicante and may be able to help....
