I recently had to obtain a POA  after much searching found the only Notary Public in Milton Keynes, the Foreign is located directly behind his office.

The Notary charged £70.50p  Gareth Pobjoy / Notary Public

Foreign Office/Apostille charged £27.00p.

We are very fortunate as the Foreign Office have in the past month opened offices in Milton Keynes its locate just behind the Notarys' office, so no charge for courier needed, just patience.  The whole process took just an house and five minutes.

This is an ideal location for those living in the 'home counties'.

Whether it's £137 or a house it sounds expensive!

Our notary charged £58.75 and, what's more, although the forms were sent by recorded mail to Spain they never arrived and it's impossible to insure documents sent through the Post Office recorded mail service so we had to go back to the notary for a second set of forms to be signed.  She did this for us for free!!  Foreign Office Apostile was £27 each time.

We sent the second set to Spain by standard mail and they arrived safely and quickly.

We live in Milton Keynes and needed  2 POA for our two sons so we went up to London having sent all the stuff by post to the Spanish consulate.  The two poa cost €35.50 all up and the family railcad was another £20 so for about £50 all done and dusted by the Spanish Notary in the consulate no Apostille needed.
