Which areas to be looking at?

Staying in Algorfa...I'm looking for places to be looking at which would have suitable schools and services etc. without being in the hub of a busy resort! We will rent first when moving over, but are not looking to live in an apartment so maybe that would have a bearing on where we should be looking? Was also thinking about investing in a SAT NAV that would cover Europe as our's only does UK....if anybody has any useful info on this I would be MOST appreciative! Thanks in advance! We have been in Spain, Costa Blanca (Algorfa ) & Costa Almeria on 4 occasions this year & we have hired a car each tiime without the benefit of Sat Nav. The rental agencies do provide quite comprehensive maps & we haven't got lost yet! We may have gone the scenic route a few times but that is part of the fun of discovering new places. Enjoy Algorfa & if you get an opportunity to visit Quesada & you like Chinese food make sure you go to the Banana Tree. 05 Nov 2007 4:26 PM nfm2862 Villa I'm in Welling, Kent & Al Andalus Thalassa, Vera I've made 1209 posts Send private message to nfm2862	As you come out of the apartments where you are staying (assuming the arrangements are with the people we discussed) turn right on the main rd towards La Finca golf course & there is an urbanisation on your left hand side. We stayed on this urbanisation in February in a 3 bed villa & it was really nice. Very friendly ex pat contingent. If you are being met by the owners keyholders, they live there & may be able to help with more information. The motorways are nowhere near as busy as here & the local roads are very good. We haven't experienced any hassle or road rage & the main areas are very well signposted. 05 Nov 2007 6:06 PM patpur Adosado I'm in Castle Bromwich Birmingham/Almoradi and formentera del segura south costa blanca I've made 304 posts Send private message to patpur	Hi Margaret Algorfa has most facilities you are after, just 3 km away you will find the lovely town of Almoradi (where l bought )which is larger and has schools and everything you are looking for infact there are plenty of small towns and villages with in a 10-15 km radius you may need more than one visit to the area to get them all in,.good luck with your trip. I've made 1196 posts Send private message to georgia	Hi Margaret, This shows you a quick route through the town and up to La finca Golf course. It's a bit boring and doesn't show the best of the town,but if you get lost take the laptop,press play and you have a great sat nav. Also if you fancy practising your driving at home get a saucepan lid,sit in the armchair in front of your pc,press play and off you go.
