Question : If you do not intend to work for a few years after you move to spain...but you are pregnant (say 6 months) when you do...are you covered by the state regardless of whether you have your SIP (Valencia) sorted...or would it be better to carry on with the private insurance in your originating country (which covers the pregnancy)...

I know from all Private products you cannot get pregagncy cover until 6 months after the policy starts....

Thoughts?

In theory my gestor reckons the spanish version of the nhs HAS to treat people here regardless. In practise no idea!

I dont think I would want to chance it though with a pregnancy - there are private doctors though to use.

I don't KNOW but I would think it's the same as here in Catalunya.
Children under 18 and pregnant women are given complete health care regardless of situation.
Good luck.
