In the winter the prices of flights are very reasonable even at 1/2 term.
If you are restricted to school holidays for booking flights work out your summer schedule now so that you're ready to book as soon as they release the flights. The release date is getting earlier each year. It used to be around Xmas but last year they were released at beginning of December. Don't rely on email notification as it can be over 24 years before the email gets through to you.
You'll be surprised how much you will save by booking early.

Hi semijubilada "Don't rely on email notification as it can be over 24 years before the email gets through to you" ?? I think you meant 24 HOURS but in our case we are STILL waiting for our email notification & the flights were released 20th June from Bristol to Alicante & Murcia !  Thankfully we looked at site morning & they hadn't released flights then looked again lunchtime & they had so we booked Nov & Dec/Jan.
