Hi - a client asked me to check why his electricity bill hadn´t been paid, and it turned out that his Direct Debit had been cancelled by his bank.  Customer service at Iberdrola said that they were about to disconnect the supply, even though there is only one bill outstanding, and it is only now 15 days overdue!  She said they were entitled to disconnect after 12 days which seems to me to be ridiculous.

I thought the rule was that they would disconnect after 3 unpaid bills - does anyone know if this is a change of policy?

If you are in the UK then I suggest you go onto Internet billing and keep a close eye on your account, just in case there is a problem and you end up disconnected.
