IBI TAX 2010

Good Morning

I have just received my Bill for my IBI (Urbana E Inmuebles) for 342.32 Euros.I only paid 176.35 Euros last year giving me approximately a 55% or thereabouts discount on a Bill of 399.76 Euros.Does anyone know if residents of Estepona are being given any discount on these bills this year.It certainly does not show on my Bill.

Secondly I read recently in the Local Newpapers that one has to re-register at the Padron every 2 years to receive benefits as residents of Estepona.Has this been passed into law yet or is it just a rumour.

In Estepona, as well as Manilva, the IBI tax practically doubled last year so your higher bill is probably what you're now supposed to be paying.

In terms of the padron, we were sent a letter a few months back to register again, but it was only for the kids.  I don't think you need to renew it as adults.  We certainly haven't and haven't been asked to.
