Washing Machines etc

Hi everybody,

Just wondering if anybody has been over to have a look at what is happening lately.Would be good to see some recent pics as well.

Hopefully all of us on phases 1 should be in ours this time next year,

Yes some updated photos would be nice. I,m also phase one and looking forward to the completion , whenever that may be ? Keep looking here to see if there is any "exciting news" on the horizon ?

Will probable meet up at some point in or around phase 1 or  the bars.

I think this thread should be used for some positive news as other threads seem to be a bit gloom and doom / depressing. i,m sure we will meet up at some point and get in with a crowd of real social people who can create a lovely atmosphere in the complex.

Anyone else out there like to look at the positives ?

Yes I am remaining positive as to be quite honest the timescales don't bother me I just see it as extra time in which to pay off the deposit.  Everyone seems quick to point out the negatives all the time and yes I have been messed around in fact I have had to move 4 times so far but I did go into it with a relaxed attitude and with the discounts I have been given it will all pay off in the end.  I am now on the new phase 2 in the penthouse style apartments so fingers crossed it should be brill when finished.  i still have another 8 years to work before I can retire so time is not an issue for me.  My original idea was to purchase off plan now have time to pay off the deposits before completion save for the balance so I don't waste my pension when I finally get my hands on it, so sit back and relax and don't fret so much!!!

Good to hear from somebody else with a positive attitude.There are always a few hitches when buying abroad and I think you have to go into it with an open mind.I look forward to sitting on my balcony on my beautiful complex with a glass of vino in my hand with my partner.Hopefully as well I will meet some nice people when I am over there which will be a bonus.

We are also quite happy with delays. It gives us the option to put in a more expensive furniture pack. It also means money we had saved for Spain we are now spending doing up out house here. I think they will be ready, penthouses phase 2, by mid to late 2009. Does this seem sensible? Does anyone know if prices are going up or down? As we bought ours knowing we could only get an 80% mortgage but they said as the property appreciates our 100% mortgage is only 80% of the final value. If the property is only worth what we paid for it we will have to release money from our home here, which we do not want to do!

It does seem a sensible guestimate mid to late 2009 for phase 2 as that is what I have been told.  We are going out next month so hopefully will get an update.  Not sure about the valuations but I know I had to move from the cancelled phase 3 and the sale prices had gone up significantly from when we put our deposit down in 2006.  It was going to cos me more to move than I had paid until I kicked off a little and got extra discount, so I presume the valuations must have risen if only slightly.

I have bought on the island on Terrazas & spoke to Polaris today to see if they  had a start  date, sadly not but they did say they would expect completion towards the end of 2009. I am going to stay at La Torre for 2 weeks in June so if it is possible to get anywhere close to Terrazas I will try to get some photos and post them.

Finally to attempt to brighten up the discontented, I recently attended a "Friends of Polaris World" evening in Belfast. We had a very enjoyable evening with decent food, excellent entertainment,  a river of wine and we met many existing and "in waiting" Polaris owners. Importantly we did not meet anyone who was dissatisfied with their property. It gave us hope that the long wait will be worthwhile.

Has anyone got an update at all???  I am buying on the new phase 2 but have heard nothing at all have any of you one phase 1 got any news for the rest of us ?????

Received some depressing news from Polaris this week.  Looks like hand over of phase 1 now scheduled for Jan - June 2009.  They still can not give start date for phase 2 but suggest that handover will not be before 2010.  

Anyone got any more positive news?

I was out there in late June / early July and drove around the perimeter. The building of phase one is complete but obviously it will take quite sometime to finish out the interiors. There are cranes in place all the way down the western side of the resort where the penthouse properties are to be built and there are some roads and parking areas, however not a brick has been laid nor is there any sign of work starting anytime soon. Going back for a week in August & will advise any progress.
