costs of internet and cable tv

Hello there,

Who has experience in getting internet (wifi) in the apartment. What would be the average costs and what would be a good provider.

We heard when we bought the apartment last year that Las Terrazas might get internet all through the park in the future. Did anyone hear something more about this.

Another question is about the costs of cable tv and provider.

Yes I was thinking the same.  I've looked at A2Z prices and you don't seem to get much for your money. Do they have a monopoly on the site? Compared to the UK the speeds versus costs are high. Hopefully someone has found a good alternative.

I bought a mobile MIDI unit in UK and have a Hitsmobile sim (best deal I found) which I bought online. It worked really well in August next over Oct will top up again. Hopefully should be ok.

If going with A2Z its best to get the TV and wifi package as the two things combined are the same price as each individually.  We find the speed fine, for our needs which includes an 11 yr old and his xbox.  Cost for the duel package is 26€ a month - but they do sting you for installation and the box I think that was about 300€

We pay 24 euros a month for T V, Wifi, & internal phone with a2z.

Have been with them since 2010, we find there service very good.

I hear what people are saying about A2Z but for intermittent usage €24 pm is quite a bit,  plus if they do charge €300 for installation then that is excessive. So are A2Z the only comes suppliers allowed on the resort or can you use anyone?

Its true A2Z aren't cheap but if it helps you can stop the contract if you aren't out for a month or two and then restart at no additional cost. At least that is what we have been told by them, we haven't tried it yet.

Maybe a bit late for Amani and thorpej2 but this information might be useful to others. I was out in December and this was the information I got when I went to the a2z office in La Torre.

In my opinion, go for the internet and wifi installation @ €121 and the 2MB package @ €18/month. You can use Skype for calls and many internet TV services such as Film On for your TV needs at zero or low cost.

If you have Sky or Netflix etc you can easily stream them. PM me if you need help doing this.

I was paying €26.20/mon for 2Mbps Wifi plus TV with them. In the last couple of months, the price has dropped to €23.99 and the speed increased to 4Mbps, which makes it fast enough to do most things! Still not as quick as my 100Mbps at home, though :-)

Update, just got internet installed for 100€ which included modem and wireless router and 6MB internet for 18€ per month (annual contract, minimum 4 months 20€ reconnection fee).

With this I can get telephone, TV, netflix etc for free.

I assume that was with A2Z? It's just that their website shows €18 pm for 4mb, perhaps they've dropped the prices again. Do you have the name of the service you went for please.

Yes it was A2Z and you are right, the website still shows 18€ per month for 4MB and 35€ per month for 6MB.

I guess they have changed the contract but not updated their website yet?

Got the internet connected today and did a speedtest. Getting 4Mb download and 1Mb upload so I guess the 18€ per month is for 4Mb. I was pretty sure they told me 6Mb so either I misheard or the sales person was mistaken.
