Just bought on La Isles and am now putting my shopping list together, first question about Aircon, as I'm trying to limit my spend initially, can I get away with a single Living room unit or do I truely need bedroom ones too (split system)?

I'd rather spend money initially on soft furnishings, but if it's essential for 3 units I may need to reconsider

Thanks

Steve

In my view, the bedroom ones are most important. They can get really hot in summer & a good night's sleep is pretty important. Last year we were over between Christmas & New year and were glad of the heat from them, jut at night & early in the morning

Will you be using all the bedroom each time you are out if not and you will mostly be using only one, then put a unit and that room and one in he living room.  If you are planning on living here full time and only need one bedroom then again put one in your room and again one in the living room .

thanks for the feedback, I guess in reality we won't use the second bedroom much unless friends come over with us

If you are out in June/July/August you will really need one in the bedroom.  We had a problem with AC unit in the main bedroom this year and it is difficult to sleep without the AC on.  We had to have the windows open, which eased the heats but Coppala's events often went on until well past one and the noise carries accorss the complex.  Once fixed and with the AC on and windows closed it wasn't a problem so my advice is get one for the main bedroom and one for the living room.

 Hi all,

Just thought I'd contribute our experience. I had aircon installed as a priority after staying in an apartment on Torres which really needed it. However our experience after 2 years is that we hardly use it in the Summer as we have had fly screens fitted and so can leave the doors & windows open and get a lovely breeze through the apartment. We have had the most use using them in Autumn & Spring for heating. However we couldn't sleep with the noise so have bought a portable oil radiator which does the job nicely.
