 Hi all,

I've been advised that our community fees covers building insurance and I've had that confirmed by Resortalia. I just wanted to check other people's understanding of the cover before I reduce my current insurance from building & contents to contents only.

Why don´t you ask Resortalia? They are the only ones who can give you an accurate and factual answer. Everyone else´s answer can only be an opinion.

Interesting!
Last year when I purchased my apartment my Bank insisted that part of the mortgage process I was required to take out building insurance. Subsequently I took out contents insurance from the same Bank.
In July I have to renew these insurances and would welcome a clear answer to your original question
Thanks
HJM

LOADS OF PEOPLE ON LA TORRE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE BANK, ITS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS,  THE BANK IS JUST RIPPING YOU OFF MAKING PEOPLE HAVE THERE INSURANCE BECAUSE THEY HAVE A MORTGAGE WITH.THEM. SO YOU END UP BEING COVED TWICE ON BUILDINGS COVER

.NO DOUT IF YOU HAVE A CLAIM THE BANK WILL ADVISE YOU TO CLAIM FROM YOUR COMMUNITY  INSURANCE  POLICY, AND NOT THE BANKS POLICY.

Hi

Got a reply from Resortalia:

Within your community fees it is included the insurance of your building. However, contents in your apartment are not covered (e.g. Furniture).

Therefore, there is a community building insurance which covers all apartments as part of the community fees paid by owners, but an insurance for the contents in your apartment will have to be contracted separately by owners.

I hope this clarifies this matter.

 Hi,

Has anyone tried to terminate their building insurance with the Bank? My mortgage is with Bankia and I have a building insurance I would like to terminate.

Thanks
