WORRIED!

I have just recieved a text fom a friend on la Torre asking me if i had heard the news that there were big problems at Roda and all the directors have walked out and now the hotel will not be built.!! I know from past experience that rumors are sometimes rife and totally untrue, ! but i am concerned and being over here in England ,I dont know how to get any further information,Does anyone know anything about this? or is it just rubbish. Sorry to cause anyone concern but i really would like some info. I have text her back to ask the source of this info and she has not replied yet.

Sorry no information but all I can tell you is that  ost of the senior directors were in reviews at Corvera last week with staff and rumours are horrible things

Everything at Corvera seems normal at the moment but of  hear anything I will let people know

Have you heard the rumour about La Torre flooding last month. Id prefer to have no hotel and my head above water.

Dont believe everything you hear,decision will be made 31st dec. on the hotel.Wait for it.

Hi ace - obviously you are hopeful of good news regarding the hotel.  Does anyone have an inkling of which way it will go?  My bet is more of the same ie further delays in the decision making process, current economic climate etc and no commitment.  I really very much doubt that any more light will emerge on this dark area.

I called Roda last week about hotel and commercial center and was told both projects have now been shelved.

Please forgive me in advance but I am a little suspicious of a first post with such an important point.  I find it difficult to believe that Calidona would openly come out say this even if it were true.

No. But what she said was that Calidona have been trying for the last two years to get business interested in the commercial center without any joy. As for the hotel she said 5 hotels in the area have now closed so Calidona are now focusing on Corvera.

Given the construction of the new transport links around Corvera I guess this does seem more logical - as Ace said we only need to wait until the end of the month for more official news.

makes sence for them to concentrate on corvera , from a non completion point of view they have a lot more to loose on corvera , as roda only has phase 4 to complete and 5 is on hold , there is not much people can do about lack of facalaties as phases 1-3 have completed without facalaties as far as calidona is concerned they will have to "put up and shut up" .

corvers however is a different issue altogether with mounting numbers not wanting to complete ( for whatever reason)  and mounting legal bills calidona have a vested interest to push forward and deliver facalaties .

as maria de castros post it would appear you are quite at liberty to delay completion untill all the facalaties are in place .

Hi Searay, until a couple of days ago I would have agreed with your points but actually my understanding is that Roda is a resort with a total capacity of 1800 units (apartments and villas) and at present only 1200 have been sold. 

It's also my understanding that phase 2 of the commercial centre (whatever that means) won't be completed until full capacity is reached.

didnt know there was a phase 2 of the commercial centre  ,   it would be nice to see phase 1 started let alone phase 2 !!

is it really too much to ask for roda to update their website regularly to stop all the rhumours etc?
