Info Please

Hi has anyone else recieved a bill from Recaudacion De Tributos Municipales we presume it is the local council tax is that correct? but it does not have Swift code or Iban number for it to be payed to.

I have also recieved this I think you are correct.

I am in Spain next week so will be heading to the councill offices to sort it out.

I am also goig to scan and email a copy to the firm who do my tax returns in Spain just in case it may be something I can avoid paying.

Yes we also have this (688 Euros for 2 years) I am awaiting a reply from our lwayers who pay all our other taxes for us to see if they can shed any light.

 We have this too, and I think it is the local taxes (IBI).  My understanding is that the other Spanish taxes are calculated on the purchase price or the Valor Catastral, whichever is the lower, so although this is another tax to pay, it also means that La Renta tax can be calculated on the lower Valor Catastral  value (in our case anyway).  Can someone confirm this please?

my lawyer says its the council tax bill for last 2 years.

they say they often take a couple of years for the first bill to come in.

ours is 740 - it is strange they are all different?

We too have received a bill this weekend for 838.82!

Would be grateful if anyone can find out if we can pay this bill from England.  Not intending to go to Roda before 20 Nov.

We were also told that they took a couple of years to come through so were expecting it, but weren't prepared for quite so much!  As you say, strange they are all different, does anyone know how the figure is arrived at?

We have been expecting this to come but have they been sent to home address in uk or to post box on roda. As I have not received anything yet

Are these invoices sent to your UK address or Spanish address and which phase do they relate to?

My Bill was recived to my UK address by recorded delivery.  We are in phase 2 apartments and looking at a few of the names of people who have recieved these they could be a phase two thing.

Below is a note from my tax advisor in Spain.

Just to inform you that the receipt that you have received is the town hall rates for your property in Spain, and you have to pay the bill.
If you wish send to us by e-mail or fax at xxxxxxxxxxx the receipt and we will pay them in your behalf, through your bank account.
Please also confirm if you want to set up direct debits with the Town hall for this matter.
 

It looks as if you retain the services of a legal representative they will sort everything out or you will have to do it yourself.

I also assume as this is a legal document and was sent recorded delivery I dont think they will mess around with non payers.

I think the reason we all have different amounts is they are rates and thus are set against the value of your property.

These council taxes have to be paid by CASH to one of the banks shown on the invoice. They should also be paid before the due date on the invoice. If the due date is exceeded then new invoices are needed which are issed at the offices in San Javier. If the due date is exceed then they will add a late payment fee! Those owners that cannot go personally need to get their representive to pay on their behalf. 

Further to my last posting as suggested by an earlier post these can be paid by Direct Debt.

Is that the sumo tax? If so, not sure if it’s the same in San Javier as it is in Los Montesinos, but here we had to pay the first one by cash and then set up a direct debit after that.  I am over at Roda today for the EGM so will be checking our mail box as we have had nothing yet, here or at Roda.

 We had our  Council Tax Bill  (EXCOMO.  AYUNTAMIENTO  DE  SAN  JAVIER ) when we arrived home from Spain on the 11th October. We just phoned our bank and explained we would not be out again until Feb and faxed the bill to them. It has now been paid and a direct debit has been set up for future payments.

yes our lawyer says the first has to be paid cash then dd for the rest.

Nothing in the post box as of yet; has any one from phases I had a bill yet?

 I have just checked my bank account arky25, and the amount for the EXCM.AYUNTAMIENTO  DE  SAN  JAVIER  (council tax ) has gone out of my  account plus about 4  Euros which i presume the Bank has taken for the transaction or the setting up of the direct debit.

So it seems you can pay the first payment from the UK. Or you could ask your solicitor  to do it for you and get charged another 100 Euros plus on top of the council tax.

Hi All,,,,,,, I am phase 2 ,  I Recived mine a week ago to my home address UK . for 756.97 For 2 years. a bit hefty. ....arky25 I am below you .. Going their in 2 weeks time.

except a bit of grafitti at stairs , which i have informed comundad about. they say they will get it repaired and pait the railing at the front the propper shade ;-)
