A big fat welcome to our new members and contributors.

Its going to be busy in our house.  To all who have emailed for accommodation, I am in catch up mode today as have just got back from Andorra but will get back to you all by the end of the day.

Darren, hope you and Michelle had a good time. Great to meet up with you both. Would be interested to know how you spent new year. Snow in Andorra. Well. I take my hat of to the brave hearts going to ski for the first time.  Conditions attrocious.  Only a few runs open so everyone there was skiing on half a dozen runs. Only man made snow and not much of that so very hard on the old pins. Normally come back feeling very toned.  Came back this time feeling like ive been twelve rounds with Mike Tyson. Highlight and laugh of the week was the ice skating rink which I wont go into.

I will be in Jumilla tomorrow so will go up to site with the trusty camara and post some piccy's tomorrow evening.

Once again Happy and Prosperous New Year to all.
Kind Regards
Linda Needham

Lady Linda,

Was great to meet the pair of you as well, and what a cracking hubby you have there !!!

Hmmmm, New Year ??? Ok, here's a message for all intended residents of SADM.

We were informed that New Years Eve wouldn't be celebrated in quite the same way as we do here so we made a decision to drive down the coast to visit some family and friends, but due to over exhuberent session the night prior, decided that driving for 4hrs in hot sunny weather (had to get that in) wouldn't be recommended.

So we decided to aim for the coast higher up and ended up in Benidorm. Now you'd think a place like that would be crying out for Guests...how wrong could we be, every bl**ding room taken up by the Spanish, not an Englishman in site or a room available. So we heads off down to Alicante....only a couple of hotels open and they were fully booked....head back to Jumilla for a cold glass of beer !!!

EVERYWHERE SHUT !!!....and it's blinking New Years Eve !!!

In Jumilla, and much of Spain, they party behind close doors with family and friends and only materialise after the chimes of midnight and the bars open, long after we'd had 4 cans of lager and a pizza in our hotel room and following 4hrs of BBC World Service, we're well to the world in our beds. Not for long, boy do the make a racket, and not just a short burst as the 'romanticism' of New Year to the Spanish is to stay up and celebrate until the first dawn ot the year beckons on the horizon.....then they sing, oh do they sign with all their mights in the streets and down the hotel corridors !!!!

Needless to say, not much sleep but a valuable lesson to learn and training to get into for when we do get over there......so, party at Linda's place next year

BR

Happy New Year.

I am new to this Message Board. We are buying in R4 @ 342 and have made 4 or 5 trips to Jumilla in last two years - usually staying at Hotel Monreal.

We are coming out again just for a few days 14 - 16th January, as we thought if buying in Spain ought to see what weather is like in winter!

We will visit with Pablo and Nuria at site on Monday morning ( and Sunday p.m. if open) - they have excellent coffee.

When we first paid our deposit we were advised of a 2005 build, then 2006 and most recently the best possible quoted was March-May 2007.

No real rush - but it would be nice to know of completion - and looking forward to actually seeing where our 'road' is !!

Regards

IHJ

Welcome to the Forum, you'll find us all a very friendly bunch here, it sounds as though you'll be close neighbours with Swimmer. So you stay at the Monreal, I'm amazed you've gone back, the hotel i mention below was the Monreal and extremely noisy although the car-park is very interesting to navigate. The weather has been amazing, we had 8 days of sunshine whilst we were there and temperatures hovering around 20Deg every day, albeit the evenings do drop very low to 2 or 3. if you are staying at the Monreal again, if you pop next door into Cafe paris, say hi to Pascal and Maria Louisa behind the bar for us and help her out with her English. In addition, say another hi to Paulo as it was he with the SJG represenataives who allowed us to be the first to pour concrete onto the R4 footings.....so you got us to thank if your property crashes down around you !!!!!!!

Anyway, R4 is well under way now and we have plenty pictures of all the activity, if you'd like to see some, just send an email over to us with your personal email address on as we cannot respond directly to an email generated from E.o.S.

Have a great time out there and if you get a chance to go further afield, on the coast is a little fishing town called Santa Pola, absolutely amazing !!!

best regards

Darren & Michelle Ward
