Steve, on reflection things are much worse that I thought, from your evidence its a "NO HORSE TOWN".

Things can only get better.

5 minutes to the square v 15mins to the elegant stylish city of Murcia for a night out
- I know where I would like to party?
Lazy nights enjoying the tranquility of the QUIET countryside from a balcony not crowded or overlooked by others.
Take a  saunter by foot to the village which will inevitable develop as soon as things get going.

Hi,

Horses for courses!!!  Its down to personal choice and I think both Roda and Corvera will have their own positives and negatives.  I just hope we all get what we paid for?  Lets hope and pray!!!!!!

Paul

Hi, we are just back from a long weekend in Murcia, having a look at progress at Corvera, and also a look around the area as we didn't have much time to do so back in March when we bought our property at Corvera.  We are LS purchasers and have bought in phase 4 which is due around the end of 2010 so we have AGES to go!  However it was still interesting to see how much progress has been made in the past 7/8 months and the place is really taking shape now, with the golf course layout, and they are digging out one of the lakes, plus starting to dig out a reservoir up at the back of the property.  We plan to go back in about 9-12 months time and keep an eye on the Corvera website, and this forum in the meantime. Pablo told us the golf course is still planned to be ready for summer 2009 and the first properties ready for occupancy in spring 2009.  The place seemed to be a hive of activity when we were there (photos uploaded) and people were still coming to the sales office to look at properties.
We also drove past the site of the new airport, lots of portakabins in place, again Pablo thought they were starting to build the control tower.

I agree Corvera village itself doesn't have a lot to offer at the moment but has all the basics and we think it will expand rapidly - there are a number of cranes putting up apartments in the village.  There is a lot of potential for bars, restaurants etc to come, esp when the airport is up and running.  Murcia city is 15 minutes away by car and we spent a pleasant afternoon on Sunday looking round the city centre (the cathedral is beautiful), and enjoying a beer and tapas in Plaza des Flores which is very lively.  We also went to  Cabo De Palos down at the tip of La Manga, which is a pretty little fishing port with some nice restaurants.  We also did the drive along the La Manga strip just for a look and it was tacky - won't be going back there again!  We stayed at Los Narejos at the Husa 525 which is a nice hotel, and not far to walk to a lovely beach -again about 25/30 mins drive from Corvera.  There's a whole load more places we'd like to visit next time in the region and Corvera is centrally placed for getting to them so we have no issues with it being 'in the middle of nowwhere' - in fact that's what's sold it to us, the peace, tranquility and the national park at your backdoor.

We also popped into Roda and had lunch at the Clubhouse; it's gorgeous and if the clubhouse at Corvera is to the same high standard we will be very satisfied!  We spoke to one of the guys in the sales office and he reckons the commercial centre at Roda will be starting in Jan 09 and they were still waiting to hear about when the hotel would start.

We came home feeling a lot more comfortable about buying at Corvera and can't wait for 2010...if anyone else has bought in phase 4 let us know!
Bye for now - Christine & Harry

Hi Christine and Harry

Thanks for the post. We to have bought on Phase 4 and are looking forward to going there in 2010 too. reading the blog here is quite worrying at times but like a lot of people I think the site will be a wonderful place to be and also the value of properety there WILL increase over time.

We have bought a "Patio" property and are due to make our second payment in January. I must admit reading about the problems people on Phase 1 and 2 are facing, I am reticent to part with more money at the moment, especially as the date for comepltion will no doubt slip!! The fact that the pound is also only now worth 1.25 Euro's (compared to 1.45 when we paid the initial deposit) means this second payment would cost us about £5000 more if we make it now. Can anyone tell me if I will be propmted to make the payment or should I keep quiet. Does anyone also know if we can legally delay the payment as the timescales are obviousy slipping.

Like others I cant wait for it all to be finished and join you all for a beer and a glass of wine in the sunshine after a round of golf

Kath and Roger

Hello Kath and Roger,

We are also due to make a payment in Jan however our layer has told us that we should not pay unless the phase 4 building permit has been granted.

Euro has lost some ground today!

Glad to see some new posters to the forum - welcome chrismedin and harry.taylor.  Thank you Christine & Harry for the update from your recent visit.  Seems to confirm what everyone else has said on their recent visits - things are looking good.  With regard to your next payment all I can say is that the Licence hadn't been issued on our Phase I apartment when our stage payment was due but we were still expected to pay - irrespective of slipping timescales.  I can't see that keeping quite will help, especially now you've posted on the forum.  From what I gather Calidonia read this!! Good luck though.

Anita.

Message for Erinzak : I nearly bought a property at Roda and didn't because the golf course (being laid at the time - 2006) was TOO OPEN and CLOSE to fast moving motorway !!!!!!!!!!!  It was noisy and guess what the traffic has incresed since then and I am very happy to have bought at CORVERA - P1.
If anyone has played MONTE REI near Algarve, will understand the peace and tranqulity the Corvera residents will have.
MonteRei IS in the middle of no where and although it is a cut above Corvera (when finished), I can see that NOBODY is going to unhappy at Corvera.
Can't wait!!!!!!!!

Hi Raviss, your post is spot on I played Monte Rei in May this year and whilst we are not so secluded at Corvera we should have even better facilities (if all goes to plan), also if Corvera treat their visitors and residents in the same fashion as Monte Rei we will be in for a treat.
