Disneyland here I come

I'm fed up of waiting for Disney to come to Spain...so we're off to Disneyland in France tomorrow as we can't wait any longer! We've managed to get a flight from Malaga to Paris but we don't land until gone midnight (ouch). Should be fun with two 5 year olds in tow.

I'm really looking forward to a few days with Mickey, although some would say I deal with Mickey all the time at the town hall here ;)

I suppose we're always kids at the end of the day and altough my kids are really looking forward to it I've spent a few hours today on the Disney website planning what we're going to do. Yes, sad but true, I think I'm more excited about this trip than my kids.

Get your hankie ready.....having had quite a poor upbringing going to Disneyland was always just a dream as a child, so being able to take my own kids when they are just 5 makes me very happy. We've had some great holidays since we moved to Spain as we got the travel bug and we just want to see as many places as possible...and yes Disneyland is one of them.

Anyway, better get a few bits done as tomorrow I'm probably going to have to refresh myself on whats on in Disney, oh, and get a bit of work done too!

An interview with Darragh MacAnthony

As part of the “Justin meets…” series of podcasts I interviewed Darragh MacAnthony this week. It was a really interesting and insightful chat with Darragh.

It was a real eye opener chatting to Darragh, he’s two years younger than me and he has achieved so much over the past 8 years. He’s only 31. I was expecting an arrogant and aggressive person but he actually came across really well. He was very pleasant and friendly.

He walks around with a real air of confidence and it’s easy to see why he has been able to achieve so much. He’s quite an interesting and dynamic character and I really enjoyed the chat that we had. I don’t think I could work for someone like that as they expect too much and I’m personally too laid back. That’s why I prefer to build websites instead of houses!

Anyway, if you’ve listened to the interview and want to leave a comment then please do so here by clicking the “comments” link blow.

On holiday in Duquesa

All the talk on Friday evening was about the ITV program "Tonight with Trevor McDonald" and their latest doom and gloom view of the Spanish property market. I couldn't bring myself to watch it so we decided to go out to Puerto de la Duquesa for an Italian meal.

There seems to be an abundance of Italian restaurants at the port but we chose to go to one called "Il Capitano". It turned out to be a good choice really. Excellent food, excellent speedy service and friendly staff. Definitely recommend it.

It was a really nice mild evening on Friday and even though we live here we felt like we were on holiday! Duquesa has become very "British" so there is a real holiday feel about the place with lots of toursits in all restaurants as just walking around the port. The England vs Brazil match was on too so most of the bars were full too. It's nice that you can feel like you're on holiday even though you live here.

The only down side is that we get into the "holiday" mode and just spend money as if we were on holiday. But we'll definitely be going "on holiday" to Duquesa again in the evenings, I'm sure of it.
