As has been said all international schools teach spanish but lessons are in English. This is good for your 2 older children but I would suggest that the 5 year old goes to a local spanish school, at least at first.

I say this as we put our then 7 year old into spanish school and within 2 years he spoke spanish as well as any local child of the same age. It is widely said that children that go to international school always lag behind with their spanish language skills. Also the junior schools in most areas are extremely adept at integrating non spanish nationals into their schools.

As to your other point I beleive the St. James college on the polaris site of La Torre in the region of Murcia is very good and in the Alicante region the Lady Elizabeth school in the Jalon valley is also very good.

Thread: Looking for english/American school in Murcia/Alicante Region

The region of Murcia has much to offer, watersports, close access to the Sierra Nevadas for skiing in the winter months as well as being a good base for visiting the Alhambra palace etc Along the coast there are many excellent towns where you can experience quality seafood and eating out in general is probably cheaper than the Costa Blanca/Brava in my experience.

However a large amount of the region was developed along the "Polaris" formula ie. villas and aprtments set around a golf course in a gated community, which although great for travelling golfers is clearly not "traditional Spain".

I am not or ever have been connected to "Palmera" and have not in fact worked forany other company. Both Spanishhomeseeker and my management company are operated entirely by myself and my wife Victoria. Our office in Blackpool is a legacy of the property management company we operated before we moved to Spain.

Hi, from my experience the buyers at the moment encompass many different nationalities with the English being less active than in previous years.

I would suggest you look at an agent with good exposure to the Russian, Polish, Germand, Dutch and Spanish clients as these seem to make up a good percentage of buyers. Where are you onthe northern Costa Blanca?

Thankyou for the welcome, I appreciate your comments so just to clarify I have several websites(as do many others) all dealing with different aspects of property sales, management and maitenace on the Costa Blanca. I am based in Calpe and opreate from both home, for the websited based side, and also from a point of contact in Calpe town centre. I also have a U. based ofice in Blackpool my home town. My point of contact in Calpe is 13 Calle La Pinta and my Blackpool office is at 203 Central Drive. I hope this clears away some of the suspision.
