Last summer, I didn't check on the legality of where I parked my car and subsequently in the day I got a parking fine.  Stupid boy! Paid it a few days later from a "cajero" and kept the receipt issued.

I now want to sell my car and need to know whether the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Salobreña have deemed the fine to have been paid and that there is no subsequent encumbrance on my car. (Please forgive the lack of trust!)

Can this be done on-line through Tráfico or is there another method, please?

I trawled through the internet and came up with a couple of names. One was in Barcelona and the other in Marbella. I chose the latter! They are called Spence Clarke & Co. Their number is 952 822 943. Can't put a link in as I haven't made 10 posts yet (Tsk!)

Got some helpful and positive advice. Would suggest you give them a call to see if they meet your needs.

...but an English one has your address on it whereas the Spanish one doesn't.

I was told by a friend of mine that England is the only EU driving licence which does have your address.

Just a piece of "throw away" information.

Thanks to Marksfish's comment which I found, I have had a question answered which one of my Spanish friends suggested I enquire about, viz. the laminated passport.

I presume I take a colour photocopy of the passport details page (why is it at the end?), take it to a notario who sploshes a big stamp all over it and then get it laminated? Right?

Pain in the neck really having to carry a passport about. In a few months it will look like something the dog brought up! Interesting to see the comment about the photo driving licence. Must try that.

I'm always slightly envious of the long-time expats who might still have the "Residencia" cards. However, I understand these will go when they have to renew?

By the way, when the shops look at the credit card and then the identification, what is it that they look for? That the name on the card and the profferred ID are the same? Or are they comparing the mugshot on the card with my own fizzog?

Hi everyone.

I've always been a "lurker" on this site. However, now that I've moved to Spain I think it's time to do the "honourable thing" and pop my head above the parapet.

Not for anyone to take potshots, mind you, just so that you know I'm not hiding!

My wife - Lynne - and I have now completed the usual bureaucratic run-around (what fun!) for NIEs, enpadronamiento, doctors, E121s, buying a car and so on. Hardly any time to get on with one's job.

We live in a lovely apartment in the beautiful city of Granada and close to all amenities. My son and his family live in the Alpujarra which is only a fortyfive minute drive away for us.

We've made some great friends even in the two months we've now been here.

Why come to Spain? A number of reasons: firstly, I have my family at a reasonable distance (they also think it's a reasonable distance!). Second, for economic reasons - in spite of the crisis. Thirdly for the simple reason that I am able to carry out my work just as easily in Spain as in the UK. And finaly, because we love Spain and its people

OK. I think that's it. It's great to be with you.

I'll be asking one or two questions in the general forum which I think someone might be able to help.
