Hi folks,

We arrive on Friday evening and have 10 days to try to get our villa furnished!

I have already been given some advice by some on here as to where to go furniture shopping etc. Much appreciated.

However, there are still a couple of other points on which I wouldn't mind opinions...

Firstly - our arrival day / time realistically means that we will not be able to stay in the house until about tuesday. With it being a weekend and taking into account delivery times etc - I imagine that this is the very earliest we could get the necessities delivered (i.e. a couple of beds and a fridge). So with that in mind, does anyone know of any accommodation they would recommend? Obviously, if someone was renting a place on the site then that would be ideal, however, I understand its a bit last-minute to organise. I just thought I would be best to ask about before going ahead and booking a room at an airport hotel.

Secondly - One of the first things we will buy, obviously, is light fittings. However, I am possibly the least handy-man you will ever meet and wouldn't dare taking on anything electrical. Is there a handy man nearby who would take on such smaller jobs at short notice?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Neil.

My family and I are heading out next week to complete on our property. For us, SC will be a regular holiday destination however, my sister is now starting to get itchy feet and is looking at possibly moving to the area. Does anyone know what the current job market is like? She speaks excellent Spanish and would interested in the sales market - in which she has about 6 years experience.

Just trying to get a feel for the market out there.

Thanks,

Neil.

Hi Folks,

We're heading out to complete in a couple of weeks and would like to have basic furniture (a couple of beds, a fridge, a settee) delivered as soon as possibly after our arrival. We basically want to minimise the amount of nights we would need to spend in a hotel and to reduce the amount of 'running about' we would need to do in the first couple of days to make the place habitable. Once we have the basics we can take our time furnishing the place 'properly'.

So, having said that, does anyone know of anywhere we could buy these basics online and have them delivered on a specific date?

Thanks,

Neil.

Hi folks,

Have there been any updates on the broadband situation? We'll be heading out soon and I wouldn't mind an extended stay while we get the place furnished etc... would nice to be able to do a bit of work if I did this.

I noticed someone mention mobile broadband below and I came across the following price list for the various providers.

[removed] - right, seems I can't post a link until I've made 10 posts. Fair enough, I've copied the gist of the article at the bottom.....

Seems quite expensive so may be a better bet for connecting on holiday rather than 'working from home' out there.

Any thoughts?
