Rights to UK benefits and NHS is residency based and not contribution based.

So anybody residing in the UK is entitled to everything.

The UK could have changed its rules to be in line with Europe but succesive governments declined to do so.

Cynics might say that they were frightened of finding out exactly how many illegal immigrants are in the UK.

When there is a General Election the result is accepted even by the losers and a new Government is installed. If that Government fails to live up to its promises then at the next election people are able to express their view and elect an alternative Government if they so desire.

The problem with the Referendum is that the result has not been implemented and yet the losers want a re-run in the hope that they would win next time. If only we could have done that after the last Labour Government was elected which resulted in the destruction of the UK economy.

The farce of the proposed Withdrawal Agreement is that it means that we do not leave but remain shackled to and controlled by the EU, continung to fund them, yet having no say in what goes on. Only people who despise democracy could have come up with that solution.

I have just got a quote from these people and over the year it works out at around €10 per month more expensive than Endesa.

Endesa now charge a variable rate per hour. We have programmed the washing machine and dishwasher to operate during the night when rates are much lower and as a result our monthly bills have been significantly reduced.

As for using solar energy the electricity that arrives at your house will have been generated by a multitude of sources and not solely by the company that you are paying for your supply.

DuncanMcG Unless you need a maximum input feed of 5.75kw you could save a bit by reducing your contracted supply rate. Mine is 4.4kw and I use 3 times the energy that you do. You would save around €50 per annum even with your existing supplier.

It seems that you have to sign up for the service before finding out what the tariffs are. They state that you can save up to 20% but again there is no way to check this claim.

I cannot find any tariffs on their website.

As most of your electricity charges are fixed costs such as standing charges, equipment rentals and amounts to pay off the suppliers previous losses I cannot see how one could make substantial savings.

My monthly Endesa bill is always around €60, less than half of this is for actual kw's used. IT would take a 50% reduction in the kw charge to reduce my bill by 25%. HIghly unlikely.

So in summary it looks like the usual scam.

The figures you enter on the 210 are not necessarily the same each year. Check the catastral value on your IBI invoice for the relevant year. This is the value to use when calculation the second home charge.
