Following on from the recent feature in INVLC of Bacco D.O.C on Sunday night a couple of friends, who flew in from the UK and I went for the evening. I have to say that the wine and bread rolls, were fantastic, and that is where it ended! The menu was very hard to read with it's whimsical typeface, the manager even bought us a torch as the Restaurant was so dark, which we thus leant to the waiter, who also could not read the menu. Most of the staff were disinterested, especially when we didn't take up the offer of Campari or Martini offered before we sat down. I ordered a Muscle and clam soup, which was not fresh, as made evident by the leathery and tan handbags contained within. The sauce was described by my friend Mandy, who also enjoyed this soup as 'tasting like wet dog'. This joy cost €15, and was followed by a Tomato and Pasta arrangement at a cost of €19, and was best described as GCSE, year 1, and was presented on a massive plate, which was only half full! Simon enjoyed a €15 salad, rocket and shaved Parmasan only, with a 1/2 cooked (read raw) large Prawn. I will never return.

Hi guys, We went to Els Quatre Gats (The  Four Cats) last week! It was fantastic, really great food, interesting decor, and a vibrant pianist! The restaurant is based on the old Paris Restaurant Le Chat Noir, and created by one of it's former employees. Le Chat Noir was very bohemian, and if you liked Moulin Rouge, the movie, you could really imagine all the characters eating at Els Quatre Gats, I am going back, just wish I lived nearer. Steve

Hello, Just thought I would say Hi! We have been here for two months now, and are loving it! Initially we were supposed to be here in July, however, British Estate Agents & Lawyers cost us the summer. A 19 week sale in all, anyone else beat that? Well, what a learning curve it has been! Not the issues I thought it would be, and was prepared for! I was expecting issues with language, going to a very rural place, beaucracy and so on. But no! We managed all that, but it's the more simple things, managing solar electric, knowing where to buy logs for my fire, knowing how to buy paint that is neither yellow or orange (or watery!). Anyway, if you are local, or wanna say hi, feel free, and I will try and contribute, as best I can! Steve
