It is only one month from today and we will be on our way for our autumn holiday in Diamante, El Mojon. That is providing Iceland does'nt spew more volcanic ash over the UK or BAA or the Spanish authorities don't go on strike on our departure date.

We have been lucky this year and although not fully booked it has been far better than other local  establishments. All but one of our families have been carefull and considerate. The odd ones were German and drove down from Dusseldorf. It happens that on arrival there was twelve of them instead of the maximum eight that is our limit. Our key holder rang us to let us know and I agreed that as they had deceived us they would have to make the best of it..... They thanked me by breaking a glass vase and the kitchen lamp shade. It also transpires that they were Chinese/German and left the house smelling like a Chinese take away.

I suppose you have to take the rough with the smooth and over all I think we have been lucky. Our visits usually entail a bit of DIY or some paint touch up. Our fingers are crossed for a nice restfull holiday and that we don't bring rain and floods with us as is what usually seems to happen.

Well done Caveman, you have my admiration and good wishes........We are going out in a few weeks and hope that the summer lettings haven't produced a shed load of DIY for us to do......We will be on the Costa Calida coast at Torri de la Horadada but far from drinking Gallons of water, it will be falling down water..........Good luck for your next fase Caveman. Look foreward to some photos.

I'm 71 now but if I were 25 years younger I would be doing the same thing. I take my hat off to you and wish you the best of luck.

I have seen the cave houses and find them most desirable.

Do my eyes deceive me, just one post in three years and that, edited for infringement of the rules.......I think it's time our little community was put on the map in big letters...........We bought our house here in 2003 and have loved every minute of our regular visits in Spring and Autumn...............We have built up a small circle of friends and regularly use the local bars, little shops and of course the restaurants. They are few but they are good...........We have fine beaches and lovely walks, the area being very flat, so great for the older people like myself..........We are a short distance from Pilar, Torri and San Pedro where can be found the regular markets and shops and a vast selection of eateries.

Playa Diamante, El Mojon, our little bit of heaven.
