Our buider in torreta III in torrevieja has charged all residents 300 for the connection fee to Iberdola when completing.  Surprise surprise though when Iberdola connected us to the systme (taking us off builder's supply) they also charged everyone a connection fee?  I don't understand when I queired with Iberdola they advised it was the connection fee.  So the builder has charged everyone for using his electricity supply.  Is this legal?

Hi Everyone

Thanks for your responses.

Meeting was held with the builder and doctor on Monday.  It seems that the doctor is a professional person in Spain (as anywhere!) and for that reason can use his home for whatever he likes.  He is a consultant at the local hospital and will run a private practice from his underbuild 5 nights a week from 530 until 730 with 5/6 private patients a week.  He has offered everyone a free consultation with him.

He will have an intercom fitted to the gate connected to his property and will personally escort patients to and from his surgery.

So as you can see.  When in spain you have to abide by spanish rules. The meeting was held in the showhouse not the street as the builder wanted and laster over an hour and a half.  At least we all 'sang from the same hmyn sheet.  But we shall see.

Hi Dennismundy thank you for your prompt response.  I've managed to contact Iberdola very helpful english speaking lady.  She informs me it is the connection fee!  Just what the builder charged 300 euros for I do not know.  I feel an email to the builder's solicitor coming on here.  The builder's solicitor is his brother!  Nice little earner if you can get it I am sure!

We purchased off plan at Sunlake, Toretta III, Torrevieja this January and have been on builders supply since then.  In mid June Iberdola came into the property to connect us to their supply and we have just had 150 euros debited from our bank account and we haven't even been there!  We paid 300 for connection charges back in January when we purchased property.  Any ideas what this can be for?
