As our community has been slow to initiate the programme of work required by the town hall to meet the new regulations  for swimming pools a notice has appeared on our complex  threatening 6 to twelve months jail for anyone using the pool!! I can't believe that this could be legal. The fact that  we are only a small community with less than two dozen apartments, a third of which are unoccupied, and steps within the complex which makes the disabled access requirements to the pool totally unnecessary is another story but with a useless administrator who is taking forever to even begin trying to arrange what is required it means my summer visitors could be facing jail if the children have a splash around in our small pool.  Unbelievable.  Are they going to jail five year olds??   I know we aren't the only community in Mijas Costa who have had these notices.  Has anyone had any luck having the time to arrange the works extended or tested the legality of this threat?

Hi,

I have been trying to find a shower bath here on the Costa Del Sol.  You know the type of thing.  P shaped with a shower screen to fit around the curved end.  They are all over the internet and the UK (even in B&Q) but the only one I can find here is made by a spa company and it costs over five grand.  They cost between 300 and 600 quid in the UK!  Has anyone any idea where you can buy one here at a reasonable cost please?

I have just received the minutes of our last AGM and found out that the president is to get a fifty per cent reduction in his community fees.  We already pay an administrator and our community is quite small with only a couple of dozen apartments so I can't say that I am very pleased.  The meeting was called last minute and later than it should have been and I suspect was pushed through with few of the residents there apart from his supporters.  I was away or would have attended though I gave my proxy to someone who I am sure would have voted against this having done the job as president for many years for nothing.  He had tried to get some remuneration once before by, I assume, organising the administrator to put forward the proposal but  I and others voted against it choosing instead to offer a small remuneration for telephone costs etc.  To be honest he isn't a particularly good president.  Difficult to approach and not very helpful once you do manage to contact him but now, even if we manage to replace him, the precedent has been set up and I can't see this being changed.  In fact I think we would now find it difficult to get him to step down.

You are very lucky in that you have not paid extra for something you haven't got!  The fact remains I would not have paid a deposit on this house if I had seen a plan of the house as it is now and  would argue that the promoter/developer has consequently received my money under false pretences.
