Georgia & anyone else with opinion. A question you might not be able to answer but, i am looking to buy 2nd home in spain. I have found one, it is what i want, in nice area frontline golf etc. The price is 60-70k euro cheaper than others in development so looks good value. Anyway the question should i buy now or wait for a year or two? will i see these huge price drops that are talked about? TJ did convince me yesterday to wait, but after a drink last night i am thinking about progressing again. The buying and running the property is not really a problem to me, but just interested in getting best deal.

Blinking 'eck. Never mind me thinking about getting a place in Spain this year, i have just found out that i bought my house in England above the trend line in 2003. It all seems negative again, are there any benefits to owning properties as investments?

Hello

I am in similar situation. I have had an offer approved and mortgage going through, although nothing signed yet. I never paid the deposit as i don't see why we should have to make that commitment with the market being as it is, it is now a buyers market.

I thought i got a good deal however after reading through this web-site i aint so sure now! I was planning on int only mortgage for a few years and holiday rentals to pay some of mortgage, i would then holiday in spain.

The advice from many people on here is that there will be significant drops in prices in next few years and to wait until then before swooping in like a vulture to pick up a place at half price. That sounds good, but the interest rate will obviously be a lot higher.

i am unsure if i just to buy and weather the next few years out, with up turn in the next few years. Or wait and hope to find the right place with a good saving, but high mortgage rates in a year or two?

Ok, thanks for the reply. Tiff over now.
It does sound like i am better waiting for a year or two until i buy so thanks for that advice. I will keep loggin in for advice, as i do like the west Del Sol area and will buy holiday home eventually.

Never mind respectfully you arse. Who are you to make judgements on what i can and can't do. I didn't realise you had to be an expert (which you obviously are) to join in these discussions. I am looking to buy in Spain and was after reading others thoughts and get a bit of friendly advice, including why different web-sites have different exchange values. I read your postings and when i woke up i was non the wiser.  If you don't want to discuss thing with me then fine, but don't try to bully me out. You obviously like to inflate you head on forums like this but don't score points of me.
