I'm just letting you know that there are a few problems around the area with new swimming pool regulations that I have been told have just been issued by the EU.  Apparently the fence around the pool has to be lockable and the it must be a minimum of 1.25 metres high which I'm sure ours isn't.  Also it must be lockable and ours isn't.  The toddlers pool is still lying derelict and is unlikely to be fixed due to the lack of community funds.  The Policia Local have closed 5 pools in the locality for not conforming to these new regulations for the whole of the summer.

Last night (Tuesday 26/05/09) I finally caught the woman who has been exercising her dog around the pool.  I told her to take the dog out and, low and behold; she's English!  The dog is a golden Labrador but as far as it's owner goes I didn't recognise her which makes me think that she isn't even from our urbanisation.  Another good reason for locking the area up with a higher fence.

Also, the horrible brat kids that belong to the ILLEGALS take their 2 dogs in to the pool area nearly every day.  The President and the Administrators have been told on numerous occasions but they do nothing, and if you try to tell the ILLEGALS yourself you just receive a stream of foul abuse from both families.  There is a rumour that the licence for the block the ILLEGALS are in is very nearly due to be released, but I've heard that before and I don't know if that's good, or bad, news!

I don't know what we can do about the illegals - my partner had a word with the grandfather last week only to be told that there is nothing that he can do - the children run wild and he cannot control either them, or their parents for that matter (their own children!).

They have been throwing stones at my house which have been hitting my kitchen window and when I ask them to stop they just carry on .... they are also teasing my dog even when I am there - when I go out and tell them to stop it they just laugh in my face! And they have dogs themselves!

To be honest it's getting pretty unbearable - only the other night we overheard a woman complaining to the adults - they simply told the lady not to tell the children off but to tell them instead - what for if they openly admit they cannot do anything about it? After much shouting nothing was done, and the children were still playing up in front of their parents and grand-parents whilst the woman was there complaining!

I wish something could be done about them ........ my partner is now going to talk to the boys directly although I'm not sure how effective this will be. If the adults come to see us to tell us to tell them, we will explain that we already have done but it made no difference .....

As for the occupation licences coming through in the near future I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing either - will we get more families like them, or will they be different and (try to) put a stop to the illegal's behaviour ?(At the moment the kids are climbing from one roof terrace to the next - none of them theirs!)?

It's just so exasperating.....and I fear it's only going to get worse

Can they legally live in a house without an occupation licence? I don't know how they have had their electric connected - unless they are on freebies from the developer?

Hi Buzylizzie.  The pool was closed yesterday by the authorities (16/06/09) as it does not meet with EU standards.  Very clever the Spanish they've had all year to do this and they do it just as the summer starts: GOOD THINKING SENOR!  Bite off the only hand that feeds you...the holidaymakers and the ex-pats!

The community meeting is on the 22nd July and at that meeting we all need to make the strongest demonstration about the "illegal scum" as their latest trick was to vandalise a postbox in the grounds and throw all the mail across the grass.  Also, there was a gang of about a dozen youths using the pool on Monday and drinking alcohol at the same time.  The illegals seemed to know them as they were fraternising with them.  They were definitely not from the urbanisation as they drove off on scooters after they had drunk enough.

I am sure I have heard that people can be evicted from an urbanisation even if they own their house.  I'll put it on the general forum and see what happens.  BUT we ALL  (that is to say those of us who are paying their community fees) need to get together and map out a strategy to sort these scum out.  Apart from anything else the alterations they have made to their houses is illegal.  Perhaps we could threaten them with having the out-houses pulled down.

See you at the meeting if not before.
