From Scotland to Antrim to Spain

Spanish links are everywhere in Scotland, Ireland and Spain. On examining the castle at Dunluce on the Antrim coast, the route of the Spanish Armada, the brochure was in Spanish. One part resonated with the environment, and the soil project in hand. Peat in Spain is very interesting and very different to that in either Ireland or Scotland. The brochure about Dunluce stated that adjacent to the tower, and below the floor, there is a pasage cut into the rock. It was probably used in the first millenium as a storehouse and as a refuge for the first habitants of the promontory, long before the castle was built.
