Life at the Mar Menor Lets Office

Holiday Costa Calida v UK are the press right?
Saturday, June 20, 2009

The media keep banging on about how many people are staying in UK for their holiday this year, but from the evidence in my inbox which seems full of people enquiring about apartments to rent for a holiday in our beautiful area where they are assured of sun sea sand and sangria and not rain.  the media are definitely WRONG

Are the press scaremongering??? I think I am going to stop watching the news on TV as I am sure most of it is grossly exaggerated.

Lets enjoy life in an area where we have wall to wall sunshine and the opportunity to sit out of an evening till the early hours of the next day chatting and enjoying cheap wine and beer none of which are available in UK

disappointment grows in the office
Monday, June 15, 2009

Disappointment is what seems to facing many people who come into our office at the moment wanting a long term rental in Los Alcazares as we have only a couple of properties left and these both have 3 bedrooms.

We need an influx of people who would like to rent out their properties long term in and around Los Alcarazares and Los Narejos.

Maybe in the next week we will have more owners than prospective tenants through the door and that would make my week

No Electric for 2 weeks keep funds in your bank!!!!
Saturday, June 6, 2009

I thought things were going well never a good thing to do.  One afternoon a couple of holidaymakers came in to say that when they returned from the beach they discovered Iberdrola had been to the aparrment and removed the electric meter!!!!

Four hours on the phone we discovered that the owner of the property had not paid the electric bill, further investigation discovered that when Iberdrola had gone to take money from the account there was not quite enough money there. Their answer to the problem was to send a letter that never got there and then remove the meter.

It took us just over two weeks to get electric back on including paying the bill, then having to pay  a reconnection charge

so life in the office has been far from dull but this is a warning to all of us with properties over here to make sure there are enough funds in the bank account to cover all the bills
