A great night watching the football in Sabi
Thursday, July 8, 2010 @ 12:56 PM

We went down to Lo de Andres yesterday to watch the Spain Vs Germany match.  He had his TV outside for everyone to enjoy.

There was an excellent atmosphere there and the whole place went wild when Spain scored.

Technoape was there with family, all kitted out head-to-toe in their Spain gear.  Surely the most integrated "guiris" in the area?

Fab night, roll on sunday!

Indeed the experience has too be exhilarating as España took on the challenge.

My daughter had come over from Estepona to spend some time with us and we decided to go to "San Pedro De La Pinatar"to be at "Manolos" at 7.00pm to so we have a table.
A very Spanish Cafe, with very Spanish atmosphere and situated right next to the Plaza which was laden with tables and chairs for some 2000 people with reds &yellow colours almost bouncing back as we looked across and over the heads of the nearest and dearest table to watch the giant screen all very much in reds and yellows By 8.00every table and chair was occupied by families and friends and regular and occasional clients enjoying tapas and drinks and little ones playing and in any space available. This was a family and the whole Nations affair with passion and commitment and absolutely supportig the team and the occassion.

"Ahaaa and very much concerned when the well known Dutch players fouled and maimed their players (No Angels) and roared and used every type of noisy tools to confirm every attempt made to scoar by Villa Maravilla etc,etc,ec.......
Extra time the tencion was so very visible and finally came the goal and the plaza like probably every corner of España Except places like Centro Commercial Villa Martin and and where there were the Dutch supporters came to life. Manolo set off some huge fire works that were louder than the once at the start of the match+. The hugging and jumping and hooting and clapping and waving of the Flags and banners was as loud and emotional as in south Africa. Finally yes it was all over and the Campiones del Mundo raised the golden trophy. The roads to every town and village was full of hooters in solidarity acknowledging the joy.

As we made our way home at 4.00 am hooted all along to wake the lot of sleeping beauties of the neighbourhood just some 10 km down the road as we thought they should also know news ooops. This is not normal for us law abiding Extrangeros.

Great night and great result for España.
