Accepting Yourself
Monday, September 5, 2011

I accept myself so that I may accept others.

I seek to be in unity with the world around me. I desire to live in harmony with the people in my life. The process of peace begins inside me.

When I am unhappy with myself, I am unable to accept others. Like a dark cloud, rejection blocks me from seeing others with objectivity. I accept myself so that I may accept others.

I have come to terms with my imperfections. I may not be perfect, but I have the will power necessary to improve the things that need improving and to forgive myself for the things I cannot change.

When I am gracious and forgiving of myself, I am able to do it for others. Instead of being my own worst critic, picking apart everything about myself, I am my biggest cheerleader. I love the person I see in the mirror!

Perfection is not a necessity of life; happiness is. I choose to be happy with who I am rather than reject myself over things that have no value. Happiness releases me from the pursuit of perfection.

Accepting myself prevents me from placing my own flaws on others. Self-acceptance is like a ray of sunshine that evaporates the fog that prohibits me from seeing the good in others.

Loving myself allows me to cleanse the lens through which I view the world. I am able to seek the positive in every situation because I am confident in myself. Negativity and criticism have evaporated with the fog and are no longer a part of me.

Today, I choose to shine my light and dissipate the clouds of negativity. By celebrating who I am, I empower myself to love others.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. Why is it important for me to be my biggest cheerleader?
2. How does self-acceptance empower me?
3. How can I cleanse the lens through which I view others?

Accept Your Limitations and Celebrate What you can Do.
Monday, September 5, 2011

I accept my limitations and celebrate what I can do.

Limitations are opportunities to be explored. I may do things differently than some people, but there are many things I am good at. I do what I am capable of, and I do those things well. Nothing has to stop me or drag me down.

I am brave and courageous, and I can do anything I put my mind to. No matter what comes against me, it does not defeat me. If there are limitations on my life, I accept them and work within them to be successful.

Everyone has limitations. It could be money, time, a physical constraint, or something else. It's perfectly normal to have limitations, and I accept mine. I am stronger than I think and I can do more than I realize. I am healthy and valuable.

Limitations are not about the value of the person. I am very valuable just the way I am. I was made with these limitations for a reason, and I use the gifts I was given. I focus on the good in my life, and the bad is something that just melts away.

There are so many good things I am capable of doing. Limitations aren't important. I find joy, peace, and love in my life, and I know I am valuable just the way I am.

Today, I intend to accept who I am and focus on the things I can do.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. How can I look past the limitations in my life to find peace and joy?
2. What is the best way for me to stay focused on what I am capable of doing?
3. How can I learn to do more, despite my limitations?

Humble Attitude.
Monday, September 5, 2011

A humble attitude makes me great.

One trait that sets me apart is my humble attitude. This attitude is the result of a healthy self-concept. I am comfortable with who I am without needing others to shower me with compliments.

Humility is about being confident that I am fulfilling my plan and purpose with integrity. I have been chosen and equipped by my Creator to accomplish what I need to accomplish. With an understanding that my talents are enough for my unique purpose, comparison ceases.

Whether I have more talent or less than another person is irrelevant, because we have all been given what we need as individuals to carry out our purpose.

When I am sure about my calling, I am unconcerned about others' opinions. Instead of seeking the approval of others and needing their constant praise, I carry on doing what I know I am supposed to do.

Humility makes me great with social grace. My interpersonal relationships benefit from my humble attitude. Instead of seeing others as threats, I look at them as partners.

I always remember to share the credit with those who have helped me. I acknowledge others' contributions to my success. I show genuine appreciation to the people who help me achieve my goals.

Today, I choose to show humility by changing the way I look at others. I lift others up and support them in their journey to reach their individual purpose. I concern myself only with making sure that I am taking steps toward fulfilling my greater purpose.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. How can I eliminate comparison from my life?
2. What is my calling?
3. How can a humble attitude improve my relationships?
