Health Benefits of Pineapples
Monday, August 1, 2016 @ 3:44 PM

Bromelain is a compound that can mainly be found in the long core of the pineapple. Sadly, most of us throw the core of the pineapple away, but we should really not be doing so. Most people find the core to hard to cut into fine pieces, but if you have a good quality freezer knife or a freezer blade for an electric carving knife, you should be able to do it.

The Benefits of Freezing Pineapples

By all means you can buy pineapple that has already been sliced, but it is a good idea to invest in a pineapple slicer yourself. Amazon has got some great slicers, and they are all easy to use. Most of them also isolate the core, and that helps when you want to focus on adding as much bromelain to your diet as possible.

Frozen pineapple core is much more nutritious when compared to the pineapple which can be bought pre-sliced. It does not take very long to freeze the core, and if you have somebody who needs extra bromelain, you can make sure that person gets some extra bromelain.

Health Benefits of Bromelain

Bromelain has for a long time been associated with a reduction in inflammatory response. This means it is the perfect compound when it comes to living with rheumatism and other kinds of inflammatory disease. Not only does rheumatism respond well when treated with bromelain, but other inflammatory diseases such as cardio vascular disease and peptic ulcers respond well to bromealin. You can buy supplements, but the truth is that the natural product is much more bio available, and if you can add it to your diet, you will also benefit from an extra intake of vitamin C which boosts the bromelain.

It is easy for your body to absorb the bromelain, however, there are clever ways of adding to your diet. You can your pineapple core with a cup of oats, ginger and a plain yogurt in a blender. The mixture becomes a smooth mix, and tastes really nice. Ginger is also strongly anti inflammatory, and can help to reduce inflammation and control pain.

Investing in supplements is one way to better health, but often it can be even better to add the right food to your diet as well. Pineapple is one of those foods that fits in almost anywhere, and you can make the most of it by adding it to your cooking as well.
