problems at Polaris La Torre restaurants

I recently left a message on the forum highly recommending the restaurants at la Torre.
How things have changed
. On the last two occasions I visited the resort there is only what can be described as total chaos in the running of the operation. On my last visit Tuesday 12th August 2008 the irish bar ran out of clean pint glasses and and there was a cue of people waiting for guiness! The Tapas restaurant ran out of Paella and this was at 9.30 and it does not close until 11pm. The previous visit to the grill restaurant, can't remember the name, (opposit the tapas restaurant) found the place in chaos. people waiting an hour and a half for food, then the wrong orders arriving and people who wanted the special 25 euro dinner, but because they chose to sit up the stairs then found out that that menue did not apply!
The Bamboo bar is also not running very well because on the same evening there were no fewer that 6 people waiting to get a drink and no staff behind the bar. I must say, if you are going out for a special evening, do not go to La Torre. It is expensive, the slowest service I have ever encountered and what can best be discribed as a shambles! Too few staff and they just think they can get away with it.
One final thing, i baught three sun loungers from the shop on the Polaris Hacienda resort last week whilst I was over staying. They cost 90 euros each and one of them broke within two days. I have been trying to get a replacement or a refund but because they dont have any left could not replace it. I understand this, but they could not give me a refund because the manager would not be in the shop for another two days! I was promised the manager would telephone me, but no surprise, I am still waiting.
Hopefully I will be able to update this blog with some good news when I next go over, but hope this will help people make up their own minds.
Finaly, the Polaris resorts are indeed very, very nice, but when it comes to eating/drinking it is totaly inconsistant so do not bank on a special evening turning out the way it should! I may be memorable for all the wrong reasons!
