We have found our new home – La Romana!
35 minutes from Alicante and its beaches, the small peaceful Spanish village is perfect for our new Spanish lifestyle.
A local school, sports centre, tapas bars, traditional markets selling fantastic fresh produce, it offers the three P’s we were looking for Peace, Possibilities and Personality.
Its took over 10 years driving along the Spanish coast, visiting places such as Frigiliana, and Nerja in Andalucia, Mojacar on the Costa Almeria, Javea, Moraira on the Northern Costa Blanca but not only does La Romana tick off our requirements, it’s also a place that matched our budget and you have to be realistic in terms of the emotional and the rational needs.
Making our own tapas whilst we sit beside our own pool overlooking the beautiful mountains, listening to the Gypsy Kings, taking our three Dogue De Bordeauxs for a walk in the countryside, eating our own fresh produce, learning the language, creating hopefully a more balanced environment for our daughter Olivia, weekend visits to the beach – the list goes on…..
We are so excited with this life changing move – bring it on!
