Warfarin Clinics
Thursday, March 28, 2013 @ 11:57 AM

 Hi all,

i am coming over to my apartment shortly for approx 2 months. Was wondering if anyone can tell me where there are any Farmacies or Medical centres, Hospitals etc.where i can get my INR reading checked as i will probably have to go every 2 to 3 weeks. I am looking for somewhere between Torrevieja and Cabo Roig areas.

Also i am over 65years of age and would like to know what will the charge be if any.

Thanks, i would be grateful for any help you can give me regarding this as i have just recently been prescribed Warfarin after having a Heart operation.

Hi There

If you have an EHIC Card(issued in UK on the internet) you can walk into any Spanish State Medical Centre and take proof you are on warfrin (most european countries issue a yellow book), they will do it free. Alternatively most private clinics will do it. There are also countless labs that you can just walk into.
Just to add, nearly all private hospitals have english speaking staff or an interpreter. simply ask for 'analysis de sangre para INR' (prenounced ee - en - airay), the rest is self explanatory!

Hope this helps. You will have to Check up on the Medical Facilities available in your area once you arrive in the Costa Blanca.

Good Luck
