Route of the Spanish Armada
Thursday, August 13, 2026 @ 5:16 AM

The story of the route of the Spanish Armada is well known, but did you know that there is a huge festival about it in the Republic of Ireland every September? There are thoughts about the Spanish tree in Cairncastle in Northern Ireland again, and the seeds of Spanish chestnut trees which were carried by sailors to ward off scurvy.  Many people drowned on the north coast of Antrim, especially around Cairncastle.
