Getting out and about in Alicante

Whether you're off to Alicante for a small break or a long holiday, you can alleviate some stress from your travels arranging your transport in advance. If you have a package holiday then you may have a hotel transfer included, which may be adequate for your family's needs. However, consider how much more you can get out of your your trip if you hire a car. You would not need to depend on transport, instead you can step off the plane and drive directly to your destination. Although the buses in Alicante are very modern and frequent, imagine not having to struggle to lift your suitcase onto an overcrowded bus. Moreover,  with your own car, you can get to see a whole lot more in the province and please yourself.

If you do decide that car rental is the best option to get around Alicante, then you'll want the best deal with no hidden or nasty surprises later on.

Getting a good understanding of the fuel policies when hiring a can be a minefield. But some websites show you much information regarding the benefits of Full to empty car hire and Full to Full available with most companies. But be aware that with Full to Full, some companies will require a receipt when you fill up and return the car at the airport. With so many car hire companies to choose from all based at or near Alicante airport, you’ll have plenty of choice when finding the best deal.

Don't forget that you will need the driving licence for anyone else who wants to be an additional driver.

Overall, with a little extra research and planning, when selecting to drive yourself, you will enjoy day trips without the hassle of finding the bus stops and having to wait around.

Alicante Airport

Alicante airport is located between the cities of Alicante and Elche and being one of Spain’s main airports, it has more than 42 airlines operating flights to 125 national destinations. With this many passengers, queues at the car hire desks can be quite long at peak times. By booking in advance you can minimize waiting times and any unnecessary anxiety.

Why not discover Alicante to the full? Having the freedom to drive yourself means that you can have some great days out and get to visit landmarks such as the Fortress of Santa Barbara Castle and the Esplanade of Spain, and still have time to experience the many amazing golf courses.

Even If the city feels a little restrictive in size after a few days, with your own transport, you'll have the option to go on a driving tour through Alicante on to enjoy more of the Costa Blanca and see the beautiful coves of Denia or Jávea.

With so much to see and do in and around Alicante, if you plan your own transport early, you'll be prepared to enjoy a great adventure.
