Dear Ann,

I hope I can help :-)

There is no really good connection by train in Spain between the Costa del Sol and France. Sorry...

You may know the A.V.E. (Tren de Alta Velocidad Español) - the high-speed spanish train.

The A.V.E. will in the near future connect almost all larger Spanish cities, but for the moment and for your particular case, you can only leave from Seville to Madrid by AVE and then from Madrid to Lérida/LLeida in Catalonia. Then take a non AVE train to Barcelone (as the AVE from Lérida/Lleida to Barcelone is not finished yet). Then from Barcelone to the French border, where you have to change trains again!

Two Questions:

A- Where in France are you going?

B- Would you mix train and plane?

If you can go by plane all gets much better!

I would consider these options:

1- From Málaga airport (AGP) you go by plane to Barcelone (BCN) with www.vueling.com or www.clickair.com, which have very good prices. There is at the moment with vueling an offer of just 10E for the outbound flight if you buy a return ticket. From Barcelone you can catch the train to France.

2- From Málaga airport you fly to Madrid (MAD) with Vueling or go by AVE from Seville. From Madrid take an Easyjet flight direct to Toulouse (is that your destination?). I´ve just seen Easyjet = 20E in September Madrid- Toulouse.

3- You fly Málaga-Bilbao with Vueling or Clickair.

Well, these are just some options....

Good Luck

Hi TJ,

Are you interested in a particular area of the Costa del Sol?

How long is the long-term that you need?

I have two apartments near the beach that I just normally rent for short periods, but I would be interested in renting them long-term to the right person or couple.

Regards

Hello,

Polla Erguido means more or less Erected Penis.

Polla is feminine, so Erguido is not correct (as -o is masculine), must be Erguida.

Anyway, to say Polla Erguida it doesn´t sound too much idiomatic in Spanish, as Polla is the colloquial Spanish word for Pene (Penis) and Erguida is maybe a too formal adjective to be used in Spanish with the word Polla.

A Spaniard would say instead "Polla Tiesa", which sounds very very colloquial and is a very funny nick (maybe not for everybody).

Sorry, I forgot this is all about Real Estate!

Hello Ef,

I´m a Spaniard living in Málaga town. Last year I when to Seville for a weekend with some friends from Barcelone. Instead of staying at a hotel, pension or similar, we decided to rent an apartment directly from an owner living himself next door, which resulted to be an excellent option because:

- Price was very good.

- The apartment was very clean and tidy as that family clean it themselves like if it were his home.

- In general the owners lives in the area, so if any problem of any kind arises during your stay they will normally help you (I can asure you Seville people is one of the most friendly and helpfull of Andalucia, which is almost to say of all Spain).

- You can negociate prices depending of how many you are, day of the week you are staying, etc. This is because Seville is a very touristic city, with many hotels, but summer is extremely hot (take care during your stay in July! :-), so many apartments may be free (high season in Seville town is Easter and the Feria, not especially July!

- The are many websites with properties to rent for a few days directly by the owner. Some of them with English language option. The apartment we stayed at was small, not suitable for 5 people, but I remember I contacted in the website: www.homelidays.com (hope no problem EOS webmaster for this publicity? thanks :-))-

- Look for something maximun 15 minutes walking to what is considered the Town Centre. Some owner can offer parking space if you need it.

Regards,

Sergio

Thread: Any recommendations for places to stay in Seville?

Hi again Ami,

Maybe it´s worth a visit www.viamichelin.com, which I´ve tried in the past with good results.

I´ve checked options from Northern France to Mazarrón and:

1- Through the Pyrenees = Shortest (less driving) and Economical (less Petrol Costs + Road tax costs). Possible snow / ice.

2- Through Languedoc-Roussillon / Catalunya = Quickest. (This option is recommended by viamichelin). No snow / ice.

Regards,
