How to register with a dotor.

Hi, my partner has her E121 and is registered with the INSS but now needs to know how to go about finding and registering with a doctor.  Can anyone enlighten and advise please?

All we did was take the papers from INSS to the nearest surgery and we were registered there and then. Made an appt with the doctor for the following day.

Our medical card arrived by post a few weeks later. If you need to prove your entitlement at hospital etc before your card arrives simply show your papers.

Hi Sandie - you will find that the system varies across Spain.  You don't say where you are living but here in Orihuela Costa you need to get your Residencia and then your Padron before they will register you with a doctor.  You can use your EHIC up to that point to see a doctor but they will not allow you to register without these documents.

Thanks Claire, we are in Cancelada, close to Estepona and she has got her Residencia and Padron so should be OK.
