I just came across an excellent website about vias verdes (green routes) in Spain.  There are some really good ideas for cycling and walking through some lovely parts of Spain.  Well worth checking out.

This is my favourite guide to the walking routes in Spain: topwalks.net - Walking Routes in spain

It covers 200 routes in Asturias, Cantabria, Pyrenees (Aragon), Valencia and Andalusia. It is very thorough and comprehensive, highly recommended.

And it's all free, of course.

Yes the via verdes are great, nice and flat for bike riding or even pushchairs and wheelchairs. Around us in Jaen we have the Via Verde de Aceite.

They make great walks and most of the old stations have a parking area and picnic area.
